ok, so i've got most of my parts from FBI and other places, i'm running 8 1/2 inch valves, got an air-zenith compressor, my question is this, the " kit " came with (2) 3 gal. tanks, we all know the xB's a little short on room, so could i use just 1 of the 3 gal. tanks and still get up & down ok? thanks

I have 1 3 gallon tank in mine with only 1/4 inch lines and it is only marginally adequate I will likely move the fuel evap can and put second 3 gal under there. With 1/2 inch stuff you will want both of them I am sure.

i have 1 5 gallon tank on 8 1/2 inch valves and all it takes is like 3 or 4 hits for the compressor to kick in and start refilling the tank. if you can fit the 2 tanks i would put them in.

i got one 5 gal tank and i think its too little play time for me so im gonna add one more 5 gal next month...

Mario... forget adding another tank. You should ditch the 1/2" valves and get yourself some 3/8". Unless you are looking to trash your car 1/2" are way too large. 3/8" is even pushing it for a unibody car the size and weight of the xB.

And don't think that this is coming from someone who is scared of speed. I was installing systems with 3/4" valves when most people were shocked to see electric valves on an air suspension. My personal truck has 1/2" valves and 3/4" line.

Now if you really play A LOT you might consider getting a second tank. Just keep in mind, you will need a second compressor to keep up with it. Also keep in mind that once the newness wears off, you won't be playing with the suspension nearly as much as you do when it is new.

I would offer up the same suggestion to the O.P. Especially if you haven't installed your valves yet. Try and unload them for what you paid for them. Then invest in some quality 3/8" valves such as SMC.

I am perfectly happy with my little 1/4 inch valves and lines. My clearances in the front are so close (near touching when near the bottom) that any faster could be dangerous I also do not like the idea of hopping a unibody around fast either. I can also live pretty easily with 1 3 gallon tank altho it might be nice to have a bit more air so the compressor doesn't have to run every time you hit a valve twice.

I run a 5 gal, and wouldn't even think about getting a smaller tank. Maybe you could run 2 small tanks under the front seats............................

I would go with 1/4 valves if I bagged another box. 1/2 is way to big. My car hopped the front end a good 6 inches at 175psi...once. I"ve gone down to 3/8 and then did somethings to slow the 3/8s valves down, because it still hopped the front end slightly at 175psi.

i can hop the front of mine like 2" on 175psi and 3/8 valves, but get anothertank and compressor, something like 10 gal. total so you have plenty to play and then the compressors wont be on as much, sont forget the water traps, very very important

im running 1 5 gallon and gonna move up to a 8 gal here before long and im running 8 3/8s valves and 2 viair 420s fill time 45secs
im gonna change my valves out wheni change my tank im gonna run 1/2inch ups and 3/8 downsso it doesnt drop so hard but who knows i mght just run 8 1/2 valves

Running two 3-gallon tanks with 8 - 3/8 valves and line with a Viar 480C feeding the tanks...and it's all under the back end.

I have a five gallon with two compressors. Running 1/2 air lines. Lift up is really quick, drop is not bad at all.

I'm using two 3 gallon tanks with 1/2" valves and line and I agree the RTon20 1/2" valves are way way too much. I'm going to go with a smaller size valve when funds will allow.

how do you hop 2 inches off the ground with only 175 psi?????? i run nitrogen tanks at 250 psi and still cant hop so how do you hop?

try using co2 or a nitro setup lots of play time with no lag and no loud compressors turning on
