Any recommendations on lifting the box
#21
that pioneer car had a whole tube frame front subframe, it basically moved all of the suspension down many inches, if your looking to get just a little lift you ocan use the idea that fabtech does with s-10s, which is a very similar design. although they do not use struts, they use a longer coil spring, which adds the height, and a modified control arm to accept the change in geometry, i put the lift in my s-10, the control are is made so that is has "more" travel, in essance, you cut away the stock bumpstomp mount and well a plate in that allows the new are with exrta low profile bumpstop droo pmore. if your looking for just asteticts, id suggust a longer spring with a higher spriing rate, and new arms that allow more movement in them.. personally if thhis is what you want, id go to a off road shop that builds prerunners or buggies, use longer axels, real (truck) coilovers, that are unfortunatly not cheap, and then have them fab you longer arms, id guess havign this done all out of chromoly and tig'ed with shocks would run you around 5k or so, but good work doesnt come cheap, so think before you chop

I guess you can add spacers between all the joints and strut tower to life a little bit but if u really want to lift it its time to bust out the sawzaw and hack that suspensiion off and start new. I built my longtravel suspension for my toyota picup in my garage. It took about a week. I know what i'm doing so it wasnt that hard. All u need is metal, a tubing bender/knocher, and a decent welder and go at it. If ur serious about it talk to some local fab guys on tips and dont be afraid to mess up. Well have fun
