Default anyone with OTG camber shims notice an increase in....

performance? I know it's mainly for the whole VIP asthetic but it does give negative camber and I was curious if it gave any noticable increase in handling? I'm into driving touges and unfortunetly as we all know (i hope) we have a rear torsion beam which can't be adjusted for camber or toe unless professionly bent, which equals $$$...that or I've been told wrong. Anyway pending that the torsion beam can't have any adjustments made to it without bending, the camber shims are the next best thing but I don't want to get it if all it does is make it look cooler! so yeah, those who have it, have you felt any increase in turn in performance?

(Wakes up to reply)yes, it helps with handling. Now let me go back to bed. (goes back to bed-zzzzzzz)

:D Actually it has helped with taking them corners at high speeds and I love it.

i noticed a big difference in handling around corners, it also helps to have wheel spacers, so if you order them get the kit that includes the spacers, it goes for about 230 but then when you put on bigger wheels you dont have to worry about rubbing. also it looks hot

Why don't you drive a touge without them and then drive with them and tell us if they work. I noticed a big difference in tire wear. could care less about handling. I needed to clear my tires from the fenders.

your gonna kill your tires. I took them off after three months of occasional driving(read 3 times a week). Inner tread is severly damaged. That was mininal driving too. Those are only going on for shows now. If better handling is what you wnat, install a rear sway bar and a good adjustable suspension and you'll be set.

yeah i know but like I said before, we run a rear torsion bar, it's not adjustable at all, well unless I pay an assload of money and have it bent to my specs, the front is fine just get some camber plates and viola, i'm good to go. But the rear is a different story. The amount of toe, while not entirely affecting turn in negatively...is still toe in, I'd like to have close to 0 toe as possible. If what's happened with you is a common thing then I'd have to say nay and just suffice with a less desirable suspension set-up in the rear. Not to say that my car has sh*tty turn in, I mean it's great...it turns in well, but if I can make it turn in even better....and even if I did get the most awesome adjustable suspension ever, I still can only adjust dampning, ride height, and only in the front, camber (and toe?)

the OTG ones are camber corrective so tire scrubbing SHOULD be minimal. whether it is or not i cant say for sure but mine have been on for a month as a daily driver and the tread is fine. JDMJim may have garson camber plates or OTG ones, i dont really know, i think some camber plates arent toe corrective. the toe correction on the OTG pieces is VERY noticable. visible toe-out. you could also get a Progress tech bolt on rear beam stiffener. i hear nothing but good things about it and its only $140.

I am wondering OTG makes negative camber plates but do they make positive ones as well. I am just curious because now that I've dropped my car I would want to correct the camber on the rear wheels (correct me if I'm wrong) ?

you wont need them smokingtires. it doesnt create enough positive camber to notice a difference. you're fine without them. guarantee ya on it.

Sweet thx, I just installed them 2 days ago and haven't been happier, the car handles incredibly better and to tell ya the truth I haven't noticed much negative camber if any, but I was just worried my last car ate tires about ever 15k miles :-( to much negative camber in the rears [/img]

^^^^^^^^^^ Im in love with those E30 BMW, and thats a very nice example. I want the M3 though, i have friends with the E30 M3, stripped, racking seats, coilovers, 2.5liter engine swap. The works and ive been in rides where we kill EVO's and STi's and those pesky 350Z''s. AWSOME CAR!

you have to worry about toe correction when you have camber. if they dont toe-out (i believe) and are just cambered they will scrub hard against the road and wear out the tire prematurely.

Is (inner?) tire wear accelerated with the OTG camber shims? Are the OTG camber shims just better with tire wear than say...their Japanese counterparts?
