Coil spring wraps .. Tanabe DF210's on an xB
I just received my DF210's for my xB. I was looking at the instruction sheet, and it mentions using coil wrap around the tight sections of the spring. Were these supposed to come with the springs? I didnt get any....
Trust me, I searched the forum for answers to the following questions, but I couldnt come to a conclusion.. sorry if I am repeating old questions..
1. Those with Tanabes... did you get a coil spring wrap?
2. I've seen in posts that you can "re use the stock spring wrap.." I don't recall seeing a wrap around the stock coils.... am I mistaken?
3. I'm not mistaking the wrap for the rubber insulators on the top and bottom contact points of the spring... I'm talking about the rubber wrap that wraps around the actual spring, apparently to help from scratching and later corrosion, and noise.
4. Any ideas of materials to use to replace the wrap that I didn't get (if i was supposed to get it..) I want to use wrap, because it couldn't hurt, even if it doesnt help. Theoretically, it makes sense. I've seen a post where someone used electrical tape, or wire loom that is curly, and wrap around that...
Sorry so long...

Mine came in the box. maybe you should contact the seller you bought it from, or Tanabe, and see if they can ship it to you. The stock springs don't come with them so I'm not sure where that info came from. a couple layers of electrical tape could help.

The stock spring info came from a post.. thanks for the reply. I want to install them tomorrow, so maybe I'll drop by a speed shop here in town and see if they have anything, or an electronics shop for wire loom..
Happy birthday kloquewerk!

the instructions, as i understood them, said that the wrap included was only to keep from chipping the powder coating unpon installation and was not nessecary on applications that do not require using spring compressors for installation. here is a pic of mine. I have been on the tanabes for about a year now with no wrap and abosultely no problem

i cut them. my friends have goldlines and im higher than them in the front and lower than them in the back... if it was the other way around i wouldnt have to get coilovers to get the stance right on my secret body kit

i have the NF's and the drop is now near 3" (so much for a subtle drop....1.7f and 1.2r)
wrap came with the springs...
i did notice a bit of plastic like shrink wrap on my stock springs. not gonna be reuseable....

I got DF210s and put them on the other day. Mine didnt come with the wrap and my RSR springs were lower, but these havent had a chance to settle yet. I do like the DFs a lot though.
question though, what is the advantage of the urethane bushings?
