Let me apologize in advance for this question, but I'm a suspension newbie. Bearing that in mind, can somebody please explain in great detail what the difference between the end-link bushings and the swaybar bushings is? I have developed a tremendous squeaking/popping noise in my xb and I am trying to find out what's causing it. I have installed the air suspension on my car myself and it was suggested that I check the swaybar bushings for damage/wear. Pics of each would help tremendously. I hate to start replacing the wrong things if you know what I mean.

I think you can disregard my previous post...I found some diagrams on the net. The swaybar bushings appear to be nearer to the center of the swaybar and the end-link bushings are at the end of the sway bar (hence the clever name). Anyway, which set of bushings is more likely to wear out and/or cause a loud squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel?

I didn't need any spacers. I replaced mine 2 days ago and I noticed a difference in the handling for sure.

No. The ES bushings are thicker than the crappy stock ones.

quick question I just got mine installed and one side is perfect and the other is missing the split piece in between the two sets of bushings that are back to back. I mean I literally was driving off and turning hit a little bump in the road and heard clink clink. I look under nearth my car I see one side fine and the other with the bolt then two bushings with the washer on each side.........no middle piece and then the other set......I am hoping this is just a reject piece cause I literally just got it put on....has this ever happened with anyone else?

If I'm understanding your post correctly, it sounds to me like whoever installed your bushings didn't put all of them in. I ordered my kit from a local parts store and put them on myself, so I'm not much help beyond that.

it was put on correctly cause I saw it as it came off the lift but I am guessing that they either didn't torque it enough or to much and put too much stress on it.....thats the only thing that I can think of. If it helps this is what I bought ENS-9-8122R

Just a heads up... Full energy Bushing kit coming soon! They R&D'd my car, I just picked it up earlier today, with 95% of it installed, right now I'm waiting for two bushings to be finalized and my car goes back to energy for the final bushings to be installed. The kit includes; Motor mount inserts, sway bar bushings, sway bar endlinks and bushings, front lower control arm bushings, rack and pinion bushings, and torsion beam bushings. The R&D guy saw the endlink kit that I put together using this write up and he said it was okay, but he made a better set up.

Well, I have to wait about two weeks until they have the final bushing ready, and install it onto my car. Then after that, I would assume maybe a month or so until its ready and shipped out to their distrubutors. I'll ask the R&D guy when he installs the final bushing on my car.

Okay, I'm in the garage with the front of the car in the air. I've taken off both the top and bottom nuts, but I cannot get the original bolt out. The walk-through says "just take the bolts out" but it's not that easy. I can't get a jack in there to lift on the sway bar, and when I jack up the entire front corner, it doesn't unload anything. I can't push up on the sway bar high enough to squeeze the old bolts out, either.

Any suggestions on how to get them out of there?

Nevermind. I got it. I didn't realize that I had to take both bolts out at the same time. I'm an idiot.

Huge difference! Great investment. I can't wait for it to dry up; so, I can really test it out.
