I guess that makes me next to the last person to do this? For the dweebles out there who havent gone to auto zone, do not bother with the parts rep.The bushings are at the end of the rack with the engine snake oil, the universal sway bar links. The one on Brook rd in Richmond, va had 4 on the shelf.

Its easy to do, however you may need to not only jack the car, but also the control arm after you remove the wheel to line it up, then with all 4s on the ground, crank them tight.

Wow good to see the thread and mod continues. Well sorry guys didn't realize yahoo photos was closed...Well after 2+ years my bushings are still holding up. I think they might need a little grease though starting to hear squeaking little.

Questions, i'm a noob to suspension.

I'm interested in these:
http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/scion.html

HYPER-FLEX SYSTEM Complete Master Bushing Set
and the
Motor and Transmission Mount Bushings

Right now, I have the speed-source polyurethane front and rear motor mounts. Would I need the transmission mount bushings? where exactly are the transmission mount bushing located? I didn't even know the transmission had bushings, lol.

Also, I have the hotchkis swaybar set (front/rear), its not installed though. I know this swaybar set comes with some polyurethane bushings, would this also be included in the energy suspension master bushing set? meaning I would have some extra bushings?

Any helps is greatly appreciated. Those thread is sickkk, learned a lot reading all the pages

Urthene bushings are the best out there and should be on every moving part for best performance. At the least the front and rear control arms should be replaced for surper performance.

The drive train normally has 3 mounts, I do not know where the tranny ones are. I know there is one on the K frame right by the cat, you can get that while installing the front sway bar.

Yea for the speed-source motor mounts, I got 1 bushing for the front, and 2 for the rear.

I don't think the tranny has any bushing though. I'm trying to remember from when I had my clutch changed. I think the tranny was just bolted up to the block, and no bushing.

On the energy suspension, website, it should just say, Motor Mounts, and not tranny mounts. =p

Has anyone installed the control arm bushings? I'm just wondering if these are worth ordering.

That's nuts!! Only 20 bucks for control arm bushings, that sounds wrong to me. Considering that the anti-sway bar bushings cost five dollars more. Do our cars have rear trailing arm bushings?

Summit is also selling control arm bushings (8.3120) for $70. I'm not sure what the difference is between those and the 8.3123 bushings that energysuspensionparts.com is selling.

Does anyone know if the xA has the exact same suspension components as the xB to do the control arm and trailing arm bushings?

Cheap, but effective! Good stuff. Between these and the Progress rear sway bar, the box handles a lot better for very little cash and time!

Just did this mod on mine Friday and it makes a huge difference in the steering response. And I noticed when I put the low profile tires on it pulled real bad to the grooves of the road. No more after this mod!

Yes, you need nylon lock nuts! And I did one side at a time with no problems. I jacked the car up and then placed another jack under the a-arm to compress the spring enough to change the link.
