Firestone Lifetime Alignment

Firestone Lifetime Alignment
I had it done last week at the same time as new tires. The stock tires lasted 19800 miles. They were bald, and one was almost flat when I pulled into the parking lot, and I didn't notice. One of the guys was outside when I pulled up and got out, and he asked "You here to get that tire fixed"? I'm like, uhhh, how much for 4 new ones instead?
I've got a mild drop, NF210's and I didn't get the car aligned wehen I first lowered it a year and a half ago, hence the 19,000 mile tires. The guy thinks I might need a camber kit. Wants to charge .8 hours per side just for the labor. I told him I'd take the 5 minutes and do it myself next time I rotate the tires or inspect my brakes.
He didn't even try moving the strut in the mount though. Individually, camber was in spec. Cross camber was slightly out though. Toe was way off. Car was very darty before, now it's nice and true, even over uneven surfaces.
Just wondering if anyone else has gotten the lifetime alignment, and how many times they've used it. I paid $169 btw.

I paid around$120 a few years ago.
Believe it or not but at Firestone (at least in SoCal), the price is negotiable.
I talked them down to $120 from the $160 that was posted up.
I bought it for my other car and have used it at least 10 times.
When the car was lowered I had my alignment adjusted 3 times in the same day without a complaint.
The cool techs don't have a problem adjusting the specs exactly how I want it, even if its outside "safe" specs.
Well worth the money.

The tech said something about SAI, and it being off too, but I guess that's a non-adustable item. He said it's mostly used to indicate if there is something wrong somewhere elase, and is basically thrown out the window in the case of an altered suspension.
The alignment along with new tires made a huge difference in ride quality.

Still on stock alignment even after several spring changes. The "lifetime" part means they will align it free "if" you buy parts from them each time they suggest it. Scam in my opinion.
The only real thing that needs alignment on the xB is the toe. Real cheap to have that set. Camber kits are needed with 2 inches or more of drop and once they are set, it should be good for a long while.
