Hey- I just posted this so others could see what this combo looks like. I really don't need your smart ___ comments. I drive 100 miles per day and I have had 35 series 18's before and they ride like hell. I don't think the 215/40 is that bad of a trade off for a decent ride.

It looks very clean!! Is there really that much of a difference between the 35 - 40 tire?? I have 35 on my 18's but I am at the point wether I am going down to 17's or getting more rubber for the tire...Let me know!

Thanks!

I would have to say yes, there is definately a difference between the 35 and 40. I had 35 series 18's on my last car and it was just horrible. These 40 series Hankooks ride decent and are very quiet. My 35 series tires were Falkens - It got to the point where I didn't even want to drive the car it rode so bad and the tires were so loud. I am very pleased with these 215/40 Hankooks.

Ummm... final outside diameter is 1" different. Which means he raised the car by 1/2" His speedometer is off by only 4%, so it's not like it's a huge difference.

mgmlot93: I like it. What width/offset are the wheels? I'm really liking that lip.

but the goldlines dropped it 2"+ so the increased tire size and the drop offset each other and look pretty damn good.

What is the rim width and ofset?

Looks good. You could have also went for 225/40/18 for more rubber.
Just requires some plastic trimming...

Word! I have 215/45 's with my 17" wheels,(love it), and think its funny when people rip on "too much tire" . I'll take comfort over looks any day.

I think the 40's are an excellent choice! They fill the wheel well nicely, ride better than 35's, and they only throw the speedo off by about 2.4 mph @ 65. I wish I had gone with 40's on my Xa, or 19's with 35's.

Well done!

Just the pics I was looking for. I couldn't decide on 17's or 18's. I think you made up my mind to go with 18's and 40 series rubber.

Any problems with rubbing? What width/offset are the wheels? Need to trim anything? I"m planning on going with 5Zigen FN01R-C's black with polished lip.

Thanks for all the comments. I have to check the boxes to refresh my memory on the width and offset, but I will check it out. No rubbing problems at all with a 3mm spacer on the rears - no trimming on anything. Thanks again.

Sweet wheels, love the lip on them and the spoke design.
