whats the best cost effective way to lower an xB and do it right! at least an inch drop! thanks

Nothing like doing it yourself. The suspension is pretty easy to do on the xB. From what I can recall, the most difficult part will be getting to the nuts holding the front struts in at the top, because they are not as easily accessible.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of getting an alignment soon after. Trying to save money on not doing this may cost you more in the long run, as you will prematurely wear down your tires, and need to replace them more frequently.

Yes, springs for sure. If you only want an inch drop go with H-techs or TRDs. You won't need new struts or shocks and no alignment needed either. First time will take about an hour and a half. Easy swap.

lower my xB 2 inches do i have to get shocks and struts? but if i do just an inch i wont? fits in the factory position?

You can safely lower it with the stock struts and shocks up to 2 inches of drop. To go lower you would have to upgrade to bags or coil overs.
