Default Holy Crap!!

Ok, so my brakes started squealing about a week and a half two weeks ago, time for a pad change right? well I had to delay purchasing new pads until Monday because I wouldnt get paid until then. Monday rolls around I get my pay check and I call up my local shop and order some Endless "Vita Nuevos". The dude tells me that my pads won't be in no until the end of the week and no later. Alright cool. So I drive happily lalalalalala from there on, a little bit lighter with the braking and avoiding quick stops, then BAM!!! at approximately 12:16 AM I began to hear my brakes squealing but wait...I'm not applying the brake! So I slow down to a stop and after 17MPH the squealing stops, and I accelerate again and it's gone. Sweet deal. But then it happens AGAIN a few seconds away from my house so I slow down again, sound goes away, then I accelerate again, but this time the sound comes immedietly...I park, take out my tire check my rotor, my rotor is fine nothing out of the usual, no insane warpage or deep scoring, just the usual I'm a used rotor but I don't need replacing feel. I check the caliper and my pad is below the rule of thumb "if the pad is less than half the thickness of the backing, change it" shin-dig. Damn...but my question is...is it so worn out that it's to the point that the wear "sensors" are activated even during driving? sorry for the long story but you know...it's important...thanks for any input.

Scion manual says replace them when they get to 1mm. Sounds like you have a lot more than that left, and should not even be hitting the wear indicators so early.
