i have the sprint springs and they lower it 2". Just looking to get a more comfortable ride and if it lowers it that is fine as well. I have read that it lowers the rear as well....so it only lowers the front and not the rear correct? also can anyone give me the numbers that i need to get for the front and the rear.

The front struts (Monroe or Koni) lower the front ~1/2" as they are designed for the Echo.

The Koni rear is the only shock to very slightly lower the rear (~0.1") as the shock is not gas pressurised. This is hardly worth talking about.

Sounds like the Monroes are the trick for softening up the ride, but do they destroy your handling, too? As much as I'd like to smooth things out for all the freeway commuting I do, after slapping on sticky tires and a rear sway, I'd hate to make it feel sloppier in turns...

Get a TRD, Progress, or other good rear sway bar along with the Monroe shocks. you will not hurt performance to any degree.
