Default How long till it drops?

Hi,

Total noob to the board here.

Just installed an Eibach ProKit on my 05 XA on Sunday.
So far it's only dropped about 1/2" of the almost 2" the Eibachs are reputed to be good for.

How long should it take for the kit to settle in? BTW - It's cold here in New England..could that make a difference?

Hey I am not sure if your pro kit will settle to 2" cause if I am correct that set up is an 1-1/2" Drop for those springs. It will take your car probably a few weeks for it to completely settle. I personally have Eibach sportlines on mine which were a 2" drop and mine settled in at 2-1/4" drop.

I would of though that you should of seen more than just 1/2" drop after putting them in. when I installed mine, they were an instant 2" then after settling like I said before went to 2-1/4".

I do have to say that Eibach's do ride nice..... I would go with any other spring

make sure you installed them correctly, lots of people have instaled them upside down

also, you should see the full drop in a few weeks, give it a month, if you drive it on a daily basis.

Eibach Pro Kit springs only give you a 1" drop... On an xA that's nothing.

They'll settle after a couple of days, but don't expect much.

Hmm. That's disappointing. Eibach's lit claims 1.6" front 1.8" rear if i remember correctly.

I also have the Eibach pro kit and my box sits with a 1 3/4" drop after having the springs on for a year.

Mavrichie,

That's the kind of drop I'm looking for. Very sweet looking XB!

Thanks!

Hmmm...never had Eibachs "settle" more than a couple of millimetres. They were always about the same from the first hour to the first year...
Are you sure the ends of the coil were snugged up the way the were supposed to be in the cups, etc? Please re-post if anything changes - you've really got my curiosity going now! I've had several sets over the years, on a wide variety of cars, and never had anything but positive results.

Sounds like either bad measuring before the install or new springs aren't seated right. I'd double check everything and get a new measurement off of a stock xB.

xa doesn't drop the same as the xb. eibach are pogressively wound so it shouldn't really settle out too much and should stay the same day one to whenver. pro kits are usually only rated for 1/2"-1" drop. i think you probably wanted to get the sportlines and not the pro kit. pro kit is the moderate drop. xb for whatever reason always sit lower on their springs then the xa probably due to the slight weight difference. the lip helps the appearance of the drop too i'm sure.

why would you suggest he measure an xB if he drives an xA?

Dexter,

Your profile lists your springs as TRD. Those are about a 1" drop right?

Figured the Eibachs would have had me lower.

Planning to check the rear install this weekend.

yes they are a 1" drop levels out the car nicely leaves a little gap but not enough that i'm worried about not all cars need to tuck its all in how you want it to perform or appear.

that seems about right if you want the tuck look you may wanna upgrade to the prokit or another suitable application that drops it more. it could settle out a little maybe but i doubt they will.
