Koni Rear struts VS KYB front and rears
#21
I meant only the rear in my previous question.
I just bought 2 rear kyb shocks on ebay.
I was told 15 perecent firmer and that would apply to both strut and shock.
I don't think just swapping the rears would be too bad.

Sounds like going opposite of what most are trying to accomplish using monroes. Most seem to think the rear is too firm, so you'll just be making it more so. It will probably want to bounce around a little more over bumps, but at 15% you probably won't notice too much difference.

I understand.
My drop is gonna be like a trd drop, very slight.
Vogtland said changing the shocks/struts wasnt even nec.
I will get the rear KYB's put on with the vogtlands, though.
I just figured 15 percent might make up for something in the back.

Koni's are good.. no doubt.
KYB's can also be a good choice.. depending upon what you need/want.
... even Tokico HP's(BLUE) are a good choice for a non-adjustable gas strut ( I think about $250 for a complete set.)
Ultimately, its all about what your getting(product wise/ quality/ adjustability).. for how much $$ your giving up in return.
I do know, once regular gas shocks/struts start to wear out... they then become shot.. and in very soon need of replacement. On a adjustable strut/shock... as it ages- and gets less stiff, one can adjust the dial to a stiffer setting- and thus get more life out of his/her strut/shock
In terms of having seperate springs and struts/shocks... going Tokico HTS 16-way adjustables is the ultimate... period. I happen to have a set of NEW rears for sale right now: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=175910
