Hey guys, just received my ksports and had a couple questions. Whipple, hope you don't mind I continue on your thread, let me know if its a problem.
Here is some pics for Rton, I know he wanted some with measurement.
Front
REAR
Ok, I have never had a set of coilovers before, so I hope you guys that installed your own Ksports can help me understand. The instructions on height adjustment are a little vague. Using this pic:
Is number 2 what you are actually moving to adjust ride height? and 1 and 3 are to lock 2 in place? Or is it 4 and 5 that actually adjust height?
And what about the rear shocks, have you guys height adjusted the rear shocks at all? Thanks!

Call me crazy, but I believe 5 adjusts preload and 4 locks that one down. 2 should Adjust length (height) and 3 should be what locks it down from moving toward the spring, which would have me guess that 1 keeps it from moving away from the spring.
This is from my knowledge of motorcycle coilovers so I may be out of my mind commenting about an xB coilover.

just to sum it up as well -- 1 & 3 lock 2 in place, 5 gets snugged up to the bottom of the spring (they say to just snug it - I'm sure the tighter you get, like xBig said, it'll change the rate) and 4 locks 5 in place. If I remember right, there is about 5in of thread showing on the front strut, and like 1/4 in on the rear absorber.

k sport and D2 are vertually identical, function my not be but parts and size. the part that says 4 1/4", i have that set at 3 1-4". try it out. for the back i had to modify the support to give it 2 1/2" inch more. don't recommend doing the mod, but no signs of problems yet.

the question of where the best place to get the D2s. i can't really anwer that. you could get it by checking on google and ebay. but the price will be about the same, 1,296.00. i got my for 900 because it was used out of a show box so it was in mint condition. but if you like something similar but cheaper than go with ksport. i think they're quoted at about 900. and i think you could order different spring rate for the D2s seperately.
and for the rubbing part, i had it and was paranoid to, but it stopped because there was nothing to be rubbed anymore.

im also curious as to how you would keep both sides of the car at the same EXACT height as the other side (left and right). would you just measure one side and try to match it as best as you can on the other side?
last question: do these come with damper adjustment? if so, have you experimented with the settings to find a good balance of handling/comfort? i know these coilovers CAN be stiff as hell, i was wondering how close they were to being set to "comfortable"

well, thats good that you can get away with using zipties, but the question i was asking was what exactly did you do with the zipties? what had to be done to the brake lines and what problem would steel lines solve?

i'm taking my WHOLE suspension apart tomorrow for cleaning and maintainance so i will take photos of all your questions. so just keep checking back tomorrow.
for the damper adjustments, i know my D2 has 36 way adjustment. i'm not so sure about ksports.
