Default Lowered on 15 inch rims

Hi,

No offense intended to anyone, but I don't like the big rim look for myself. HOWEVER,
I do want to drop my box @2 inches. Has anyone else dropped their box and kept the 15" rims? Any problems with that? If someone has and could post pix I would appreciate it!

Thanks in advance for the info.

Scott

Thanks MacNcheese,

That helps; is that your car? How does the ride compare to stock?

Anyone else with same set-up but rims instead?

Here's mine dropped 2" on 15" Rota Auto X'es.
I think the Goldline springs I have actually ride better than stock. And, from what I have heard, Progress Tech (sold by partshippers.com) ride even better than Goldline with the same amount of drop.

Least that is how it looked a couple of weeks ago before it went in the paint shop.

Here is a thread with a bunch of pics of box'es dropped on 15's:

Nice!!!

That's what I needed to see. that confirms my belief that there's a lot to be said for the smaller rims. I think they are sadly overlooked.

What are you doing with the paint, if I might ask?

I was running 18s on mine, until I got to Virginia. The roads out here are awful, compared to So Cal. So, I got a set of stock 15" steel rims, with 205/55 Kumhos. I'll be swapping the tires onto some Nippon F2 15x6.5 gunmetals, hopefully by next weekend. The car rides MUCH better on 15s, as opposed to the 18s, at least here where I'm at. Wasn't such a problem back in Cali, but the 15s make the ripples, potholes, gaps, spans, and all the other road problems here in Virginia much more tolerable.

I agree that 15s have been overlooked. Let's keep it our little secret, lol!

Thank you, I can't wait until the paint is done.

I was thinking I needed some showier wheels for Heatwave, but I will probably just leave them now.
