Default Lowered the xB w/ TRD springs **new pics**

I'm very very pleased with the TRD lowering springs. My brother and I installed them on my xB today, and it was quite easy. I expected the back to be easier, but they still weren't bad. They just took a little more fanagling than I expected. The front were a piece of cake as well. By far the easiest installation of lowering springs I've ever done! :D

The ride is very nice. I've read a few reviews and a few comments about the stiffness of the TRD springs - I must say that those comments must be from people who haven't driven a xA or xB with the TRD springs on. The ride is a little stiffer but still very compliant. Way less lean and body roll in the turns. The bumps are still compliant, but I can tell it's a little stiffer. I'm very very pleased with the ride.

I measured and so far it's about 3/4" lower in the rear and about 1" in the front. The front and back are level. I expect them to settle a little. The amount that it's lowered is perfect - I don't have to worry about scraping on every little curb or ramp, so it keeps the xB practical.

If this sounds like the set of springs for you, check out Ebay. I found them for $157 shipped from a reputable place. (airporttoyotaparts)

Cool!!! Be sure to have the alignment checked before too long so you don't wear your tires. Mine drove straight but tended to wander at highway speeds. Got it aligned and every thing is okey dokey now.

marcs - thanks. That's good to know. I'll keep an eye on my tire wear.

That's after you installed them?! Wow, not much of a cosmetic drop at all.

No, it's really not a big drop. Cosmeticly, a non-cardork probably wouldn't notice that it's lower. A true Scion buff would notice.

The ride is very nice. Like I said, it's far from "harsh" or even "choppy." It's firm around the turns but still very compliant. It's going to be great for daily driving. Plus, it's not so low that I'm worried about scraping all over town.

It still doesn't look any lower than stock. Almost doesn't seem worth it.

Maybe it's just the small wheels. Time for some 18s

It definately looks lowered when you see it. I promise. Plus, I meticulously measured - it's lower. :D

Snapped a few more pics this morning. I think these show the subtle lowering quite well.

An old one for reference:

And the new

Looks good. Better then I thought. Now you just need some wheel spacers

At first I wasn't too happy with the drop that the TRD springs gave me. But after about 3 or 4 weeks they settled and actually dropped quite a bit more. Now I love them!

Now all you need are some nice wheels to go with them
