Take a look at your back left rim (If you are looking at your box from the back). The inside of your rim more than likely is rubbing with a bolt back there...I know it happens to me..I believe OneTone Spacers will take care of that problem...

Double check your work, and make sure to have the lug
nuts torqued down the proper amount.

i too own a 05 xb standard with 18in wheels, trd lowering, TRD clutch, TRD Shifter, got it all done at the dealer and the sound of metal rubbing IS present.... not only when turning right (though 9 outta 10 times it is) but also when im going straight, its not all the time but it comes and goes.... i went back checked all the work, no metal rubbing anythign from the outside.... thinking possibly inside transmission? flywheel? clutch? sounds like two flat metal plates sliding on eachother... please let me know you guys found out what it is.

I FOUND OUT WHAT IT IS!!!
so i take my car to Fowler Toyota in Norman Oklahoma on my quest to fix the wire harness that melted in the xB, when they pulled my box around i heard the sound again, so i asked the shop man to check that sound out... its the Heat shield for the brakes... that little plate behind the rotor, all he did was press it back in three spots with a screwdriver and no more sliding sound... what weight off the shoulders! and i thought it was serious :D

I think the melted wire harness is more serious then the noise.

i got the harness situated, that was my main purpose of going to the dealer. Either way i found out the noise and i think it'll help some people out.
