Default opinion on springs/shocks

Being a complete noob to suspension I need some opinions regarding lowering the box. I've been reading several pages of threads and am still torn between Tein and Tanabe springs.

I am running 15s and don't plan on going bigger. I really just want a slight drop but I am concerned about loading the box with 4 people and having problems with scraping because it's too low. I feel like the car handles poorly at fast turns. My overall goal would be to have a slight drop and a tighter, smoother ride.

I'm looking at Tein High Tech, S Tech, and DF210s. For shocks I see most people recommend Monroe so it seems that's the way to go.

For a smooth ride even with 4 people in the box and a slight drop what setup would you recommend? Any suggestions would be great!

I like the DF210s. No problem with a carload of people. Yea, it's low, but who cares.

If you wanna fix your handling, get a rear sway bar from Progress or TRD. You'll be shocked at how different the car feels.

df210s all the way. I've had many a road trip with 3-4 people and the hatch full with no problems. speed bumps can be a biscut all you got to do is drive slow and angle it. by my self i never have any problems. im on stock shocks and struts btw for over a year.

I was also thinking about s-techs, but I went with the DF's because I got them at a good price. I like how it eliminated the wheel gap and it rides pretty fair, not way better than stock like others claim (IMO, a little bouncy). Overall, I like it, looks super low on steelies. Haven't rubbed or scraped yet, with my wife and two kids in the car.

I have the Tein S-Techs because i got them for cheap but if not i would have purchased the DF210's. If you want to keep the ride smooth use monroe shocks. To improve the handling by a tower brace and a rear sway bar, this setup should tighten the car up nicely.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I decided to go with the S-Tech's because I didn't want to go as low as the df210's but lower than TRD or H-Techs. I also wanted a stiffer spring. I felt this would be a better choice as I sometimes do need to carry passengers.

I kept the stock shocks and struts after so many people recommending waiting until they really need replacement. However, I did do Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and a Greddy front strut bar.

I'm running stock tires on 15's and am pretty happy with the ride. A lot tighter and aggressive. I can take turns now almost like a car instead of a box!!

If anyone wants pics let me know....Thanks again

A ton of new pics on cardomain. I know I'm going to get a ton of responses "get bigger wheels" but I'm happy with my setup right now.

How noticeable do you think the Monroe's will be? Would it be better to just wait and save for some Koni's?

I like the C-Sharps. 15s look really good on the box.
