Default Progress coilovers??worth it???

Well I was going to get the monroe shocks and struts with lowering springs but after reading one of the threads....I am definately leaning towards coilovers.......I do not want the super expensive ones........My whole goal is to lower my car at least 2 inches and get a good ride......I think progress makes an affordable coilover setup......Does anyone have a set of these on their xb????????if so.... what do you think?????????do you recommend them?????????are there pros and cons???????????

I've done some research on them, and they look to be a great setup.

Talk to Lip from partshippers.com on here, he can get you the full hookup.

What does the rear setup look like?????do you need new shocks in the back or is it a true coilover as well like up front????

Thats the exact kit^

You can use the stock shocks, a lot of people like running the Monroe 5870. It's a little shorter than stock and gives a better ride.

Why do you want coilovers for a 2" drop? I would think the df210's would be perfect for you. Unless you want to have the adjustment there in case you want to go lower in the future.

The question is why wouldnt you want cilovers.By the time you buy new shocks and struts and springs youcould save a couple hundred more and have coilovers. They give you the option to go lower or higher at any time and ride as good as you want them to.

You can even buy a set of coilvers for between 700 and 800.00 if you just want height adjustment. Its like 1100 for ones with a damper adjust and height adjust but well worth it I think.

Default 2 inches?

seems like you want two inches. there is drop srings that will go two inches. so you could go with those and it will cost alot less. but like it is, coilovers will have the drop there when you need it. i think the progress set up is safe to ride a little lower than two inches. mybe close to three if you like with different shocks in the rear.

i have a question to. is the front coil over shorter than the the stock struts? these just look like threaded stock struts

The good thing about coilovers is that when you go lower you dont lose any stroke. When you use lowering springs you lose a bit of stroke in the shock. That means the possibility of bottoming out is always there.

Progress, Tanabe, HKS, TEIN- you lose stroke on the xB with ALL of these brands of coilovers.

D2, Ksport and JIC are a different story...

Default D2's

i recently bought D2 coilovers. the good thing about them is that you can adjust the ride height and not lose any stroke by adjusting the lower mounts. no bottoming out worries. down fall is that you can't adjust it with the wheels on. but with other coilover that was listed, you can adjust with the wheels on but losing strokes. its a give and take thing.

Default how much are D2?

well depends who, where, and when you get them. different site and store may have them at a different price. if you get hook ups dan you can get it cheaper. i got mine second hand so it cost less. but their about 1300, about the same as tein super streets. like the other post said. d2 spring rate is a little stiffer. more agressive and performance. but teins don't go as low, but a more comfty ride. so depends on what you want. D2 36 dampening adjustments. and i think teins have 24. plus D2 comes with stronger pillow mounts and camber plates. to me if you're willing to sacrifice a little comfort. you ask about progress coilovers?. just buy full body coilovers. at least they come with full shocks. progress doesn't come with the rear. buying them and rear shocks will cost you as much for the higher quality products D2, teins, etc....
