The easiest thing to do is leave the stock springs on and up size the tires a bit. I did this for the winter to gain a bit more ground clearance. How much? No clue. I haven't measured. The tires are 195/70.

Otherwise I've had thoughts of making spacers for the top strut mounts and finding taller springs for the rear. These are just thoughts, not sure how well it would work. To much work for a temporary raise for winter, so I just left that idea alone.

There is another xb thats lifted that isn't on a custom frame. It looks like they used coilovers in the pic. Which is floating around here some where.

As for spacers. I wouldn't use the same bolts on the strut. I'd have them come through the spacer, recessed, and bolted. Then have offset bolts on the spacer that come through the mount on the fender well. But like I said it was just an idea to a possible cheaper solution to custom coilovers.

Found a pic of it. I guess you can't see the front suspension to well. Must have been another pic I saw.

With all is talk of lifting an xb. Its got me thinking of trying out my idea. If my work would only invest in the mill there thinking about I could fab one up, but it wont happen.

No kidding! The change in my tire size has just killed my mpg. Then add 3-4" of snow on the road and it gets worse. I can't wait for it to be over.

I'm pretty sure that last pic is chopped.

A coil-over kit with longer springs. Eibach sells a 2.5 in spring for their kits and you can buy different spring lenghts and different spring rates to tune the suspension. Also the shock should be a longer length due to your lifting, not lowering.
