Default Scion/TRD springs vs. Tein vs. Eibach, etc.?

Which is better in regard to handling and control?
And why?
(*A basic drop is OK - I don't need a 4" slam, just better handling - but a decent ride - this is my commuter car!)

I would say go with the Tein S-techs. I have TRD's and the its not low enough. I need that extra half inch to make the car look good.

lol, i didnt answer your question at all, but S-techs FTW!

go with the teins. i had eibachs, and never liked them. and its not a big drop. if you go with the trd's you will want to go lower soon after, everyone seems to when they got trds.

Go with the Eibach. Nice ride and pretty cheap, comes with the rubber bump stop and the rubber cover for the back springs. Drop after settle 2.25"

2.25" drop? i dont know about that. which ones did you have sportline or prokit? when i had the eibachs they felt mushy, i still had a lot of body lean. I was using the prokit.

I have the Sportlines. Not the prokit. I believe the prokit dropped 1.5 all around. The Sportline was probably not available when you purchased your pro kit.

I would recommend going with Eibach Sportlines. It rides great and the drop is nice. I personally wouldn't go with anything other then them for springs. Just as SkyStHaLiMiT_BB said my Sportlines settled in at 2-1/4" drop as well.

I've run Eibachs on other cars and liked them. This car has to be comfortable for commuting though, too, so that's as much a concern as handling.

OK, I'm re-hashing this thread because it kind of died off with only about a day's worth of responses, and I don't think I made clear enough the fact that ride quality is a big factor (not drop), since this car is my commuter, and that I'm open to ANY brand.

i say since your still running a 15" wheel look into the trd the drop on 15" wheels never looked too bad. your not giving up too much.

I am running with the TRD springs.
Yes, they only have a modest drop of a little over 1”.
What is important to me is I have never bottomed out or had any rubbing issues, even with 5 grown men in the car. My tire size is 205/45 x 17” and the xB is my daily driver.

I have S-techs and they are soft and look beautiful but none of the springs will ride better than your stocks unless you upgrade shocks and struts. I got the trd shock and struts afterwards and they kick ___. One of my favorite mods!

I just installed TRD's 1.5 weeks ago. As others have stated its a modest drop but I think it is perfect for my tastes, it evens the fender gap out evenly all around the wheel/tire. As far handling, I hate to say but I don't think it did much to improve handling. My new wheel/tire combo upgrade was much more noticeable over the stock Goodyears (for obvious reasons) than anything I've felt with the TRD's... and I stress "felt" as it may just be a placebo effect. I'm waiting to pass judgement on the TRD's effect on performance until I get an alignment done this weekend.

If you want pics, let me know and I can try and snap a few for you. I've also got tape-measure shots showing the before/after effects of TRD's on an xA.

I'd love to see picks of the TRD drop on you xA!

I'd also like to hear any xA owners opinions of ride on the Eibach pro-kit...

It might be a few days... it's too dark to take any tonight and forecast is calling for rain and snow for the next 3 or so days.

Hmmm...looks good. I could definitely live with that kind of drop. What's the ride quality like with the TRDs, guys?
