They both look functional to me, dude. I just don't understand how the whiteline works. I'm just trying to educate myself on it.

 

think about it ... Echo, XA, and XB's have a solid rear axle which is a big beam of steel going across the rear end. And what does the Progress bar do ??? It attaches itself under that ... Think about wheres the flex ??? While the WhiteLine sway bar is mounted to your suspension... Just think about it ...

 

I can see what you're saying. I guess I got a little confused because the suspension is bolted to that same bar.

 

As far as I know, the whiteline rear sway bar won't fit on the xA/xB. There's already a torsion bar (is that what it's called?) welded in there...

I 2nd that I have the Progress RSB and that thing is SOLID chunk of steel which is bolted directly to the rear trailing arm. I don't see the logic in that whiteline rsb because it has bushings which allows too much play and this homie don't play that

 

These cars don't have a solid rear axle. Rear drive cars have solid axles. These cars have a rear torsion beam with a stabilizer bar. Antisway bars are torsion bars attached to the cars chassis and are linked to the right and left control arms. Antisway bars offer resistance to independent side to side wheel movement. This is how these bars limit sway in the turns and hence their name. While limiting sway, the antisway bars also cause weight transfer to the outside wheels. By altering the diameter of the antisway bars or installing them where there were none before adds yet another chassis tuning element. If you were to increase the size of the rear antisway bar your Scion you would be increasing the amount of weight transfer to the outside rear wheel, thus causing it to run a bigger slip angle. This would give you more oversteer.

 

If you had the Steel and knew how to weld you could close off the rear torsion beam axzel's Open Side, at that point you would have a 4" hollow RSB Axel

I can tell you from my experience with Hotchkis. I had a Matrix before this. It had front and rear bars. I had problems with the urithane(sp?) mount brackets cracking and the rear bar cracked on me 3 times. I will never use them again. I did take the bars out and changed the front to stock and rear to progress. I loved the progress. In fact I just ordered one today for the box.

You dont ??? Understand why the whiteline has bushings ??? You obisiuosly havent looked at the front... The front sway bar has bushings holding it down ... So again why wouldnt it work ???

And let me post this question have you taken your car to the track ??? Unless yes then you wouldnt know the difference in a progress bar and the whiteline ...
