Default Tanabe springs or coilovers???

I was thinking on getting the tanabe DF210 springs and was wondering if the drop is good enough if Im riding on 18s?....Does anyone have these and can you lend me sum input....?
Right now I have the TRD springs and 17s but I am unhappy with the look. Also
with the springs I was thinking on going ahead and replacing the struts as mine
are still stock. What is a good set for these springs?.. Would this be risky as I do need a good ride cause it is a daily driver?

Also would I better off with this set of coilovers : http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....er=TNB-TSC081X

I mean the spring/shock would be tailored to each other and could just adjust the height if the ride is rough.....Does anyone have these????...

Coilovers > *

If you can afford them - get them. If you're just doing springs, you run the risk of the shocks giving out faster than they normally would. Probably not anytime soon, but the possibility is there.

If you are actually looking to get new drop springs and a nice set of struts I would seriously consider coil overs. And in the price range of the Tanabe Sustec I would give the Tein and Progress Tech offerings a good look. Both of those options are supposed to allow for a lower drop than the Sustec as well as a pretty smooth ride.

I know that with the Tein you can also have custom springs built to order. Squirrel on this site had a custom set built so that he could go even lower.

Hi all Scion owners,

I've been using Tanabe DF210 for quite some times. Currently im using the Tanabe GF210 and GAB shocks (non-adjustable) which i think dont really match with GF210. I would like to know is there any good shocks that match with the GF210 springs. Since im using the GF210 now, i plan to stick with it.

Thanks,

I am thinking of doing doing Tanabe df210. I was wondering if the Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts be ok?

If it's a question of low, I'm sure you want to go as low as you can, right? If you are considering the decision betwen springs and coilovers, it sounds like it's about the money, too?

Like ack said, if you can aford them, get them. I couldn't afford coilovers right now, and got the DFs. I figured 150 bucks is not bad, if even just to see how i liked it. I'm sure I could pawn them off, and start saving up if I thought I needed to get lower - I just had to get that box off of tiptoe as soon as I could. Honestly, I've had them on for three weeks, and I like the DFs. I haven't really thought about coilovers much.

my DF 210's and 18's look great no wheel gap at all....the Monroes will soften the ride up a bit...possible cause the rear to push a bit

I love my DF210s. I'm still on steelies, but my brother-in-law has 17s and it looks great. Both of us have no gap, and a good ride.

I just got my car lowered yesterday. I was supposed to get the Goldline, but the shop was out of stock, so they ended up having to give me the Tanabe's for around the same price. I didn't know what to expect, but to my surprise, my ride actually became alot smoother. I was already used to a bumpy ride because I have 18/40/215 wheels and tires. The ride on these springs was not much different then before the drop. The car handles like a dream now, I can take corners with ease. The drop height was 2" front and 1.85" in the rear, absolutely no gap...great look.

If you want to lower your car and don't have too much money to spend, I recommend going with the Tanabe's. Ohh and by the way, I think the stock strut giving out soon by only replacing the springs is a little over-rated. The stocks springs can handle alot more then what people are saying they can. I have yet to hear of anyone having to replace struts on an xB within 2 years simply because they lowered their car.

If you are on a budget, just get the DF210 springs. Plenty of drop and you can get the springs for about $170 and just put them on stock struts.

Here are some pics with the DF210 springs......

Springs. Unless you track or auto-x, then coils.
