Default Tein H Tech installed - first impressions

Finally installed my Tein H Tech springs.

I really like the look. Amazing how a 1 inch drop makes the car feel different. You can definitely tell that the car is lower. I like the feel of the drop

As to the ride. The main reason for getting these springs was to improve the ride quality. The ride quality is better and worth getting. It takes out the sharp hits. I can tell the lower spring rate in the front. Someone stated before that he felt the ride was still a firm ride just not as firm as before. I would agree with that.

For now I think the improvement is enough. We will see with time. It has only been 2 days so far. Lately I think the original springs were riding better than before. Maybe they were just broke in more? The box is 9 months old now and about 11K miles. Here is a pic

This, too, is something I am curious about. Would like to hear more feedback once you get more time on these springs. I am looking to soften-up the ride a little

I have been wanting to pick up a set of H-techs for a while now. I have a guitar I am trying to get rid of so once I do that i will definetly be my next purchase. It seems they have everything I am looking for, mild drop, smoother ride etc.... You saying the body roll isn't that drastic comparec to stock???

I am really diggin those 15's. Are you riding stock rubber on those? What did you drop on those wheels if you don't mind me asking?

Looking good man.

your car man, your car!!!!!

Tein H are the way to go I had the Tanabe df210 and the ride was way to harsh / bouncy. Made the switch to the Tein H and love the ride. The best test is the pregnant wife test, my wife hated the ride with the Df 210's we stoped using my car because of it, after I installed the teins she loved the ride and we use the Xb for everything again.

It gives a damn nice drop to I didnt notice to much of a diffrence from the Tanabes to the Teins.

The car with the Tanabe springs

The car with the teins,

The tires are stock. Wheels are Konig Theory's. I do like them. They are harder to clean because of the all the spokes but not too bad. Around $400 for the set out the door.

Left the rims on for the winter and had bad corrosion on the center caps which are chrome plated plastic. I did wash the car a lot in the winter but I guess it was not enough. The winters are somewhat hard here in Michigan and they use a lot of salt. Discount tire is going to replace them under warranty. Great store!

Next winter I may take them off and get a new set of tires that is taller. This will give me better ground clearance so I don’t become a snow plow and make the wheels look better in the summer.

My thoughts on the ride so far; Some times I get on a road and the frequency or hitting the sections of the payment at a certain speed is just such that the car bounces back and forth. Did this before and it seems to still do it now but maybe a little less bouncy. I have hit many a rough road and I am amazed how well it takes the bumps. Really nice ride. Had someone in the back seat and he thought it was a rough ride back there on one section of the road. Had not rode in the vehicle before so may not be a good comment.

As to the drop. I am loving it more and more. I find myself speeding into turns because it is more fun. Hangs on quite well.

I agree the H-techs have a great ride I have been riding on them for about 2 weeks now. They remove the body roll and the extra bounce of the stock springs and drop is nice for the 17x7 w/ 215/40 I am running.
