The outside of the strut is powdercoated silver. When they powder coat, its basically like paint then they bake it to make it setup, The inner seals on the strut are made of rubber or plastic and when they baked the strut it melted those plastic internal seals.
What I've been told is they changed from black to silver right before they release the scion kit and that silver powdercoat requires a higher temp then the black did.

So the silver ones are good? if so, I got silver ones, haha. Which means I am good to go. But the only defect on one of em was it locks itself with too much air pressure. so it works running a slow PSI.

No, I think they paint them now instead of powder coat them. So there is no telling if they are good or bad. Just wait til it quits working. K4kas is the only person I have heard of that got any amount of miles on some before they failed. All mine failed before they left the driveway.

I've driven over 500 miles so far with em, in just 1 weekend, whew. So far so good for me. I am not a fan of anything from Air Lift, but i feel these are the only things that are any good for the xB, despite all these problems, once the problems are all gotten fixed and what not, it should be a great product.

Easystreet is still crap. Period. I was one of the first people who started having serious problems with their crap when I purchased their entire kit from a group buy through Gauge magazine. Many others had the same experience that I had when they had recieved their kits after myself. My front setup broke within 2 hours of initial install, leaving my brand new car with less than 1500 miles on it to limp home slammed to the ground. 30 bucks to ship the strut back to Michigan. Then its replaced a week later. I installed the new strut, a day later the same thing happens. Easystreet did NOT OFFER to even cover shipping on this second strut for return. It was "my responsibility".

Yeah, its my fault that I spent 1600 bucks on your product and its a POS. Jeff was an ___, always in a ____ty mood and never returned my calls or tried to blame it on something that I did with the installation. I was lucky to get a refund through Gauge Mag for my purchase.

My car now rides on EAI cylinders and I have haven't had a single problem since they were installed.

Easystreet- if youre reading this. The word is out, I receive hundreds of questions every week on this site regarding air setups and since you let down one of the first customers you had- your product has a bad rap. Being nice to a customer over the phone is great, but it doesnt change the fact that people have ALOT of problems with your products.
Have a nice day and good luck with future R&D on Scion products.
