Default Time to replace shocks?

I have Goldline springs on my xA for over 25k miles and I notice the ride is getting more rough and rough. I thought I read somewhere that lowering springs shortens the lifespan of the shocks but I'm not sure what are the symtons for a need of shock replacements. When do know for sure its time to get new shocks?

There is 2 ways i know of.

1) visible inspection. Look for oil leaks.

2) pick a corner of your car. Press up and down on that corner a couple of times. If the car doesnt bounce up and down your shocks are still ok. If it bounces up and down a couple of times, the shock/strut is shot.

I have a lot more miles then that on my stock suspension, and it still rides just fine.

How many miles do you have on your xA total?

I'd swap in some aftermarket shocks, it will reduce the rough ride and increase handling as well.
