Tire pressure
#21
The tires I have are Toyo ProxesFZ4 205/40/17. I figured I was too high and was thinking of trying 32 next. Do you think that is still too high? Remember that I drive some extreme canyon roads everyday and rail them prety hard. I am not talking about tire traction in town trying to go around the Starbucks.
As for the tire pressure change it should be about 10% if it is the same as motorcycles. I don't have any experience with racing cars but I have been on road race tracks with motorcycles for over 7 years.
Squirrel,
With all due respect I can tell you right now that 40 is way too high. Where are you located? If your near hotbox05 try dropping it down a bit and head up to Alices rest. and Skyline. Some seriously fun roads.

PS I just picked up my TRD springs today so that will change things a bit also. Which brings me to think I should tell you all what is done to my car so far. As for suspension, just the 17" rims and 205/40 tires and a front strut bar. In the near future there will be TRD springs and a rear strut bar. I just need some more money first.

205/40's are too small. you need 205/45 or 215/40's the size u got is the standard size for honda's and the like. yer speedo is now off. allthough overall acceleration is slightly better now. i love the rear strut bar a lil bit better . i need a rear sway/anti-sway bar. and a lower frame brace. i may be selling my rear strut bar.

929. Sweet. I've never owned one but have ridden a friends and it was a blast. Right now I have an 04 CRF50, 99 Honda RS250, and an 02 Suzuki GSXR1000.
I am a little busy right now. I am headed to ride Laguna Seca on the GSXR on the 1st. After that I will start changing tire pressures each day on my way to work and I'll post what I find out.

Ok, I know I'm getting old now.
The max psi on my NeoGens is 50 psi and not 44 psi. Wjhat the heck was I thinking? I wasn't that's my problem.
Sooo, I guess its a good general rule to run your psi at roughly 20% less than max.
Sorry if I confused everyone. I know I was for a bit.
