I was told they may be discontinued real soon.
Anyone know anymore?

Well, they aren't that great anyway, and there's too much competition, so I wouldn't be surprised.

They discontinued the TRD rims too.

Maybe if you have a fully TRD'd out xB in the future it may be worth something. If they keep discontinuing the parts!

Scion may as well stop making "aftermarket" parts anyway. Half the people buy Scions are in no way interested in fixing up their cars anyway.Like senior citizens, bratty girls, etc. 25% is buying everything from eBay cuz it's cheap and it says it will work on their Scion. 20% already bought TRD parts and are paying the financing on parts they may no longer be using like the rims. 5% are probobaly reasearching what works best for them and are getting good quality parts for their cars and putting together a nicely fiished vehicle. Scion needs to stop wasting money with TRD parts.

yeah, im not surprised about the trd springs being discontinued if they actually are. compared to other springs and being so stiff with hardly any drop- makes me wonder why anyone would buy them unless out of convenience of a dealer installed part.

definitely agree about the ebay parts... ive bought my tein stechs, trd quickshifter, and my k&n cai from ebay auctions!

i kinda feel bad for trd. such overpriced mediocre parts that most people only buy for the name that was pushed to fame via trd japan. and or the guarrantee of being warranty loving.

Besides all that, TRD Makes more money and parts on the trucks anyway. Good ole USA truck lovin fools. Maybe Toyota should start sending over the cool vans like the Noah, Voxy or the Caldina or Wish. Toyota sells lots of Siennas. Why not more selection of something that could be cool. I'd rock a Caldina or Voxy.

toyota trucks are actually really nice though... my rents have a 99 black tacoma 5spd that is an absolute blast to drive. its the short cab, with the trd big wheel/tire & raised suspension combo. very hot little truck! best part about it is it looks perfectly proportional without that huge rounded hick-esque look of other american trucks.

Hi Walt,

You didn't say who told you that the springs are being discontinued, but we sell them all the time and our stock is being replenished every time we order. Some very slow moving parts have already been discontinued, but these parts aren't on the list.

A local shop here in Orlando. The discontinued was with a ? mark, ie, they were not sure.
I want to lower slightly, and the TRD's supposedly lower 1" and still offer a decent ride. I have seen what the Hotschis set does on DisneybB's xb and I do like the looks. I'm just being a stickler for ride quality and not too rough on the bumps and driveways.
Hey Ken, give me a "gift certificate" and I'll order the TRD's!!! Just Kidding ;-)

from what i hear the trd springs are pretty stiff for being a 1" drop. my guess is though with the trd shock/strut combo it would improve ride quality a lot!

Keep signing up, you never know, somebody has to win. The ride quality on the TRD will be slightly softer than the Hotchkis because of the ride height after the drop. They should be available whenever you need them. Have a good one.

TRD in its current state is pretty much a joke, it use to be independent of toyota but toyota kinda took over the company, in the next year or so rumor has it they are gonna become more independent.

the trd usa springs are the same exact as the eibach prokit, no joke, eibach is who produced all trd usa springs, for toyota that springs were made for by trd usa, it was eibach. now trd japan is something else, those are good stuff. their suspension kits for ae86s are awesome, and even so for bBs and ists.

WTF are you all babbling about? TRD makes good quality parts and you all know it. Eibach may have made the springs for TRD so what, Eibach makes quality parts as well. TRD in not gonna give up.....ever!! Just cause there's a little comp doesn't mean anything. And since when do you lower a car and it doesn't get stiffer? The whole reason ppl started lowering cars was get BETTER HANDLING so yeah it's gonna get stiffer. The only reason there's a huge aftermarket world for scion is because TRD and Scion created it. You all sound like a bunch of HATERS!!

Don't mean to start a war or anything but it is major . ONE!!

i dont think anyone here hates TRD.. its the fact that they arent even creating their own parts for us here in the US- its a different company. you could just as easily buy an eibach prokit, the reason youd get the trd kit is because toyota has approved it with a warranty of their own (that works along with the car's existing warranty). in japan, where true trd parts are made, parts are engineered directly from trd- which is by no means what trdusa has done with some of their products.

everyone has opinions and preferences of different brands. if everyone thought every business was equally as good, there would be no competetive innovation. no need to get upset that people have dislike for certain companies.

and btw, i have the trd quickshifter and i love it!

no where did i say i hate trd. i love trd. in fact, the last 3 cars i owned are toyota, im going to continue to buy toyota. however, i prefer JDM parts over usa parts. because in japan, they take pride in their parts.. but i definetly am not hating on trd =)
