Wheel Clicking on xB at 30 MPH +
So i've searched the fourms, and couldn't really find anything, so here goes nothing. When i drive above 20 or 30 MPH, the wheel clicks from only the front left tire. I thought it was kinda wierd when i noticed it in june or july and it wasn't that bad, but it has gotten worse, and now you can even hear it without the window being down. I'm wondering what it could be, but i'm also prepared to take it to the dealer, and have them say "i have no idea what your talking about." Anyway if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully it'll be covered under warranty if anything is wrong because i only have around 12k on the box.
Thanks

If it is a really loud noise it's a possibility that you might need to tighten the lug nuts on the wheel...they might have come loose or the last person that tighten that wheel might not have tighten it too well try that out it happen to me once in a different car. It could be pretty dangerous...hopefully it is not that.

yeah that is most likely the lug nuts not being screwed on tightly enough. it happened to me as well over the summer. there was a clicking whenever i was going under about 20 mph. after taking it for a routine service and changing to my winter wheels, the clicking is gone, so it definitely was that.

it could also be that your wheels are not centered correctly, but it looks as though you have stockies, and if so, that is highly unlikely.
whatever is causing it is mot likely VERY serious, and should be addressed asafp.

Check for a big rust spot on the brake rotor or anything else unusual on the rotor surfaces - inside and outside. You also should turn the tire by hand with it up in the air to see if you can FEEL anything uneven or bumping when you turn the wheel and try it with the steering all the way to each end of the travel full left and right too. This will check for CV Joint issues.

Bought new tires, and the jackass at the tire place only hand tightened the lugs!!! Started clunking within 2 days. Could have stripped the threads, or even killed me if I had been doing freeway driving!
You can believe that I let the tire place know about it.

well not to scare anyone but this happend to me i thought well its just a click went to the dealership it stoped for a while. Well long story short annoying, and harmless clicking noise was in actuallity my half shaft crying for help.... five hundred dollars spent when all was said and done.
But the clicking is gone!!!

Yea I would lean more towards the halfshaft then a loose wheel, as you have been driving on it for awhile.... But without actually seeing the BOX or hearing the noise
thats as far as I can go... Cause if I had ESP I would be making alot more money at Toyota.... (although the moneys good don't get me wrong)

yea, thanks for the help everyone. I called the dealer (its not like i have a choice... theres only 1 here in AK, but anyways, i have a service appt friday, so hopefully the problem can be addressed then. I dont think its too serious cuz ive been driving on it for 6 months, but i guess we'll find out

i had this same problem, mine turned out to be the hubcap. I took it off put it back on and made sure it was on there as good as i could get it but it still made that clicking noise. so i just took them off and no more clicking noises
