Default xB Rear Camber Shims?

Guys,

I know a few have mentioned contacting myBox (van) concerning this but was wondering if anyone else has recommendations on other manufacturers who already have been producing rear camber shims?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Yea, Van is the man! He has answered countless questions for me. He is a dictionary for cars in general. I'd really like to know whats going on with his camber shims. He said he was 'going through getting them produced'...that was in May. Haven't heard anything since.

making these is a lot harder than most people realize

i have adjusted other similar vehicles by this method(shims)

and they must be so accurate in dimensions it is not funny
a normal CNC machine will probably have a 20% failure in terms of machining and tolerances

given the amount of people already jonesing for these
making enough for the initial release will be taxing

WORK HARD VAN!!!!!
i will wait as long as it takes

yep Van is definetly the man on this. with toe correction... thats unheard of. most JDM kits dont have that even.

Sean (Mybox) can get you ones so you can have some SWEET A** camber like Brad (Squirrel) has. i aspire my box to be that clean.

so if you're in a rush, talk to Sean. if you want to hold out and wait for Van's kit (like I am), then expect a quality product with toe correction.

I think most everyone is being more than patient about it. Its been around a year since i first heard Van was gonna make them. I'm willing to wait for toe correction...i know all too well how evil toe can be.

Maybe he should have a waiting list or pre-order list. That'd be nice.

if your going cambered that'll ruin your tires allready no matter what the toe.

thats not totally true darren. granted its worse than stock still, but its night and day diff. if you have toe correction. rule of thumb:
tires should last double as long if they have toe correction

thats what im told. it will be less than normal alignment, but not drastically

Not from what i've heard. Talk to Van or other knowledgeable people. They will tell you that the neg. camber isn't the problem. It's the neg. camber coupled with toe that do the damage. I mean you may have more tire wear on the inside of the tread if thats what you're getting at. If you have a omni-directional tread pattern you can always get them re-mounted so that the worn edge is on the outside. Double tire life lol. I've never done any of this in practice but i trust people who actually have experience with it.

any time you have more than 2 degrees negative your tires die very quickly. i had camber problems on my supra and got the toe within spec yet my tires still died in a quickness. also van may not sell these to everyone . from friends chats with him he only will sell it to people who he feels are going for a true and earnest vip look. aka no 8inch or narrower wheel , crap like that.

Thats an idea! Van can give first dibs to those with wide wheels. That means i'll get a set! 9 inch wide is most definitely worthy.

9 inchers aint bad . but try 10.5s and 11's . lol.
and then imagine 6 degrees negative up front , 10 degrees negative in the rear

I'd like to see those on an xB. Oh yea...there are some in the bB bible vol. 2, page 41. 10 inch in back. What you described sounds like something MyBox would do. I'll have to live with coilovers for now but to the point: I still get a set! LOL

i might be near the top...

probably not.
my new set of wheels is 15x7.5 according to manuf.
not as big as some out there, but bigger than most for 15s

ha ha .

hey scott if yer runnin 15's i wouldnt worry about camber theres should be less wear on the inner treads.

sean does have some sweet euro 16's .........for sale of course.

oh yeah i almost forgot i measured my bmw's rear camber the other day. with only 2.5 inch drop i have like 6 degrees in the rear. lol it'll be like 10 once i get the coilovers on there. that sucks . i only want like 4 . expensive camber kit here i come. only 350.00 . yeah ( only) not. lol. i might just slot the upper strut mounts

if these become "private market" goods
shims are available to add to rear camber plates to correct toe and/or increase - camber

the front is easy, get camber plates
if that is not enough, get the adjuster bolt for the strut
that'll do near 5 degrees total in front
maybe 4 degrees --- stacking the rear to a dangerous level...????

in japan they run 10 degrees. crazy. my buddy ran 10 degrees for like 3 weeks with almost 1000 miles. the inside of his tires were allready bald. i would definately say that 10 is unsafe. I like the look of 3 or 4 degrees. i think the safety aspect of things comes into play around 6 degrees or so. also the camber puts more stress on wheel bearings because of more side loading onto the bearings. just so everyone knows and they dont have one lock up on them.
