Default 18's and 35 series?

is this a pretty harsh combo to ride on compared to 17's and 40 seires? I was set on 17's but, I found some 18's for a great deal and don't want them to pass me up if it's tolerable. I'm riding on 1.75" lower to the ground

Oh yeah, kids are involved

I will be moving to either 17s or even 16s for my next wheel combo. The ride is a bit rough and sensitive.

But I will miss the look of the 18" when I do it.

yeah 18's ride sorta rough, but honestly its not that bad. the look is great, and handles well. im not to sure you would even feel the difference between 40 or 35.

best of luck with the choice making process.

I hear that 35 series is a very rough ride... you should go with a 40 series tire much more comfortable ride......

i'm riding on 35 series tires and i don't think it's that bad...esp. w/the gold line springs. i was expecting a really harsh ride but it's pretty smooth. i just have to watch out for big pot holes or when driving through construction zones because in that situation, it can bump pretty hard.

You WILL feel the difference in your car with the 35 series tires. The ride is a bit harsh and maybe bumpy. You will feel every little groove in the pavement...so yeah...I would try to get 225/40/18 tires and get some spacers..from the reasearch I have done, that setup will not rub..Good Luck

i have 225/35/18 and all i have to say is look out for potholes. the ride is awesome and the grip is even better. i definitely suggest 35's

I just put 215-40-17 Yokohama Avis H4S tires on my xB. The ride is somewhat harsher than stock, depending on pavement type/quality. I wanted a long mileage, all season performance tire and the Yoko's filled the bill with it's UTOG rating of 500. I really wanted a 205-45 tire but choices are somewhat limited in that size. Falken has several tires in that size but Tire Rack did not carry them.

I tested an xB at my dealer with Wanli 215-35-18's on it a month ago. Without a back to back test I would have to say the ride is comparable. I really wanted more sidewall than the 18's offer. I would have to say that the 17's look just as good as the 18's. If Oklahoma had "perfect" roads , I would have gone with 18's in a heartbeat.

Any wheel and tire combo will look good on a lowered box. I plan to get new springs for mine later on. Good luck with your wheel and tire choice and be sure to post pics when you get them. I hope to post pics of mine later today.
