Default 205/50-15 vs 205/55-15 on a 15x8

will there be a substancial difference as to how a 205/50-15 and a 205/55-15 on a 15x8? I want it to be a little stretched, but a 195 or 185 tire will hinder driveablity (rougher ride and making the car way lower)...although i know it would look bad ___ . so yea I want to stick with a 205 tire...which is a better fit for what i want? and any one with pictures?

yes, 205 50 15 kumho.....the kumho side wall is kind of round and doesnt look as good as say a toyo . it's a noticeable stretch, you gotta see it in person to see, but it's not extreme. i will say this though....by going to the 8 inch wheel....ride will suffer anyways....not much difference noticeable betweenthe 205 and 195. also, if you get a low offest (mines +10 on the rears +25 up front) there's absoultely no lip protection.

I just had a wheel replaced because the dealer curbed the car while I was there for an oil change. The curb was on a squared off speed bump..............still gotta be careful, regardless if it s 15 or not with the 8" width. high speed runs over those freeway bumps may still result in bent rims if they are light weight...believe me, I've done it and wasn't even driving agressively at all.

But if you like a lot of lip on a 15, then a low offset is in order. hope this helps

205/55/15 is the correct upsize in terms of diameter for an xA/xB. Which means your spedometer will still be really close. As far as looks? You won't really notice the difference, it is 10mm in height for the diameter of the tire. I would say, go with the 205/55/15, just because it is the correct size.

Get 195/55's They are aproximately the same overall diameter as the stock tires.

I have done stretched tires before and in my opinion 205's won't be stretched enough to look good.

burn0ut - no matter what size, offset...you just gotta
watch out for any shiz on the road. i still drove with
caution with steelies. he's not trying to scare,
but he's just telling you the possiblities.

if you're careful already, good.
just be a lil more careful that you already are.

my rims have a slight stretch with
my lip sticking out the tire...boy do i drive 40mph all the time.

Also,

If you are going with those sm wheels, there's going to be some mods to the fenders that will most likely need to be done.

To me, the best looking would be the 185 or 195 50 stretched.

The 205 may not looked as stretched, but it is still ok.

a 55 or 60 will look more stock.

For the next set of tires, I'm going to go 195 50.
