why are you guys running incorrect diameter tires?

I rub with 215/40/17 on 38 offset 7 inch wide wheels , but i'm also more than 3 inches lowered up front.

i just wanted more sidewall for protection from the horrible roads around here. but the "incorrect diameter tires" really dont affect much. the stock speedometer reads a little faster than you are actually going, and the odometer puts more miles on than you actually drive with the stock diameter tires. running slightly larger tires brings them a little closer to actual.

main thing to me is rubbing , aesthetics and mass at the outer most portion of the wheel.

the 45's detract from teh aesthetics and add to the others but if ya've got rough roads can't blame ya.

if i lived in a pothole hell like i'm sure some people do i'd run some wide 15's . lol. more cushion for the pushin , lol.

Default LARGER DIAMETER TRIES = SLOWER SPEEDO

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG BUT, IF YOU HAVE LARGER DIAMETER TIRES YOU WILL SLOW DOWN THE DRIVETRAIN AND THE ENGINE WILL RUN LOWER RPM'S. YOU MAY EVEN GET BETTER MILEAGE FROM THE LOWERED ENGINE RPM'S.

SOMEONE DO THE MATH AGAIN PLEASE.
A LARGER TIRE ROLLS FARTHER PER TURN THAN A SMALLER TIRE, WHICH EQUALS LESS TRANSMISSION RPM'S AND EVEN A SLOWER ODOMETER.

RIGHT OR WRONG??

PRETTY SURE I'M RIGHT ON THIS ONE.
