All-season/Winter Tires??
What kind of all-seasons or winter tires do you use? Especially those who deal with snowy conditions in the fall/winter/spring.
Where do you recommend finding these tires?

I use Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires. They are awesome for snow and ice traction, better, in fact, than many of the studded tires I've used on other cars. Get them, and you'll be very happy.
Best place to get them is www.tirerack.com. Call their phone number and ask for Roger at extension 627. He helped me out with buying two sets of tires, and he's our moderator here. Very good service, and fast delivery.

GO STILLERS!
Yo Captain Boomer:
I actually went with TWO sets of 15-inch alloys, one for summer and another for the Midwest winters here. *NOTE: stock OEM steelies are 15x5.5-inches with +38mm offset running 185/60x15 Goodyear Eagle LS tires that offer miserable wet AND dry traction (bad news) and reportedly do not last long (good news?)
I contacted Discount Tire Direct (actually went to local warehouse to research and preview options --- they were VERY accomodating. (Maybe check your yellow pages for local outlet or dealer?)
For warmer weather chose 15x6.5 TSW Kyalami rims in HyperSilver with machined lip, wrapped with 205/55x15 Falken Zeix ZE512 tires. (offset +40mm) . . . $834 mounted, balanced, shipping/delivered.
For cold weather and bad roads, went with 15x6.5 Rage Coda rims in same color scheme, with 185/65x15 Michelin X-Ice snow tires (also +40mm offset) . . . $600 mounted, balanced, lifetime warranty, giant NASCAR (!?!) storage bag.
NOTE: I was intent on getting good MPG and ride quality as well as keeping speedo calibration pretty close (winter set indicates 60mph when actual is 61.8; summer set indicates 60mph when actual is 60,3). I've been extremely happy with these set-ups: great winter traction in deep snow and/or black ice, decent performance and handling with the summer combination. Personally, I didn't want chrome or polished, but the painted silver/diamond machined look was just enough *bling* for my TCM box without being too over-the-top. And the Kyalami and Coda designs are quite similar, so that was another plus for me.
Anyway, hope this info helps you on your path to Tread & Butter --- I'm sure you'll have plenty of other posts to work with as well. Have fun . . ,

^^^^ WOW! Thanks dude...
Also, I've used Bridgestone Blizzak in the past, and loved them. Just a little pricey in the 17" size that I'll probably need ($128/tire-TireRack).
More comments welcome.

I live in PA, so I deal with snow and ice in the winter. I wanted to find a tire that I could run year-round without it feeling like a snow tire in the summer. I just didn't want the expense or hassle of switching tires and/or rims all the time. For my xA, I decided on 16" rims and Falken Ziex ZE512 tires. They are rated as a "performance all-season" tire. I absolutley love them. They did great in the snow this past winter, they have terrific wet traction in the rain, and they feel better on dry pavement than the Bridgestones the car came with. I feel like I've found a great tire. I don't know how much you care about this, but they were rated #1 in their class by Consumer Reports. I got them through http://www.discounttiredirect.com for a very reaonable price.
