Default Anyone running 205/45/17?

I've got 17x8 +25 205/40/17 on Goldlines. I wanna fill the gaps a little more but keep it stretched (for looks and fender clearance). Basically, I'm thinking 215/40/17 or 205/45/17. I think the 205/45 might look too meaty, but I've never seen any examples....any suggestions or pics?

oh and what tire brands do you suggest. I just need long treadlife, quiet, performance (in that order).....right now I'm looking at Falken Azenis....

well if you wanna fill the gaps ? i assume fender gap .. going with the 215 40 over the 205 40 .. isnt going to change anything .. since the profile of the tire is the same .. just a little wider..

go with the 45 series

Yeah, fender gap, but upwards and outwards too (I am willing to roll my fenders), but at the same time, I don't want too meaty tires.....

Technically, the sidewall would be 0.2in taller (40% of 215 > 40% of 205), but you're right...it's hardly anything. Although i've seen examples like westsype (also 17x, and his 215/40/17s have a noticebly more "filled-in" look whereas my 205/40/17 actually look much "slimmer." This is probably due to the 215s width and lesser stretch compared with the narrower 205s and its slightly reduced sidewall (from stretch). It is possible that it just depends on the type of tire and its shoulder shape which makes more of a visual impact....sooo, it looks like I'm leaning towards 215/40, but am curious to know what 205/45 would look like

I guess what I'm really asking is is if anybody has experience with, or seen, a 205/45/17 setup (esp. on 17x8 wheels if possible)?

(I know it sounds like I am overthinking this, but I wanna get it right the first time :D )

As far as some tires to consider, I would recommend you check out the following. They can be reviewed on our web site by clicking on the link below.

215/40R17 Continental Extreme Contact's
