My vote goes for Bridgestone/Firestone I've had incredible luck with tires from them.

If y'all are answering that question in this forum. I'd have to say I drive with my wheels on ONLY.

BFG.

That applies almost across the board for most "consumer" uses.

Specialized racing tires are another thing entirely, but, then, so are real racing vehicles - this is a Scion forum.

For street use I would usually chose something from BFG, for off-road use, I would even more strongly lean toward BFG.

For racing, well, it's been a looooong time since I did that, but we were Dunlop sponsored and that's what we ran. They were very good, but that was back in the day when radials were still rare in the US...

BFG.

I just CANNOT tell you how much I love my Avons....
Yeah, OK the name is funky, but check TireRack.com. You'll see that these are rated #1 out of 17 in the 215/45-17 size. (Ultra Performance All Season)
Check out the reviews. These tires have unbelievable traction at a VERY competitive price. I got mine at $99 each. They've gone up a little since then. If you're lookin' for tires, you really oughta read up on these!

I had some Falkens (Ziex ZE-512) on my previous ride and they stuck like glue to the road. The performance was great (wet or dry), little to no road noise and the treadwear was minimal. Very tough to beat.

Thank you, I've been looking for feedback on these tire and why CR gave them a #1 rating. I ordered a set a few days ago. I will provide feedback after I've got to drive them for a while.

I just got 215/45/17 Fuzion ZRi's (Made by Bridgestone/Firestone) and I LOVE them. Great ride, great grip, quiet, excellent all-around tire so far.
