Which is the best rubber?

For "Ultra Performance," I voted for the Kumhos. The Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s are great summer tires that grip well and have decent wear characteristics. They are also relatively cheap compared to other performance tires. I have had two sets of those Kumhos (225/45-17) on my '97 Talon, and was happy with their performance. Just don't try to use those tires in the snow; even in an AWD car, there is very little control.
On the tC, I will probably be sticking to All-Season "Performance" so I'll be leaning towards Goodyear, Michelin, and a couple other companies with a good reputation for all-around tires.

the 2 most popular tires ive seen in solo 2 are Kumho Ecsta MX's and Falken Azeni's. The Azeni's have a stiffer side wall and are a little better when its dry. the Kumho's are much better in the rain.

I like Toyos. I've run T1+'s, then T1S's on my MR2 turbo, and T1S's on my Z06. But now they have the new T1R which is supposed to be better.
The street tire autocross guys think they're OK (they usually go for the Azenis 215 or 615s), but they are mostly interested in pure dry performance and shave tires down.
The Toyo's tend to compromise a little tiny bit of dry performance for most excellent wet traction. Which on a street tire is something I value
my xA has been pushed out anther couple of weeks, but I was thinking of sticking the T1-R's on it.
If you like pure dry performance, the Falken Azenis 215 or 615 seem to be the choice. They can be a little squirmy on full tread (most tires are like this).
The Kumho MXs or Toyo T1Rs are a better choice if you want a great sticky tire that can clear water too.

Nothing beats the Super-Stickiness of Yoko's, combined with good treadlife and Excellent WET-Grip, there is no other tire for me. Of course I am speaking of AVS sport or higher class tire in the Yokohama catalog.
My previous car; a heavily modded 3.8L Mustang ran 265 35 18 fronts, and 295 35 18 for the rears, and when those babies were warmed up the rears could grab things they passed over and fling them into the air.*(A Home builder advertisement sign for example)
Being wary of water on the road as I am, I must insist on superb wet traction to go along with great dry traction. So far my Yokos have not dissapointed.

I have those tires on my Z24 and on my box. I love them in all weather. The Z has been through rain and snow on them and have had no problems handing it. Aside from me running in a ditch and busting one (I'm an idiot), I've had ZERO problems with them and won't hesitate to buy them again.

My 1st choice street tire would be bridgestone S-03s. Awesome dry/wet grip, but pricey. Currently running Falken RT-615s. Very nice street tire, nearly as good as S-03s but $150 less for the set. The Azenis are kinda loud and squirrely the 1st week or so until the wears a bit.
In the past I've used Falken Ziex-512s. Very good tires for the price. Great in nearly all conditions. Not super performance tires, but they're much better then RE92s.
For track use, only tires I've used are my Avon tech-RAs Just incredible grip when warmed up and they last well for a motorsport tire.
