Due to popular request, I have reverted to BLING TRIM RINGS. They look great on the stock wheel, except for the front hub/spindle. That needs some kind of cover/cap.
I saw one spike type cap on this board, are there any other solutions?

EDIT: SOLUTION FOUND.....NAPA balkamp catalog # 730-2411 Seen here:

Dust cover or grease cap, we don't have grease in there and dust stays out.
The rear wheels look fine in the hub area. But they look better with this cap.

 

Need some type of "baby moon" hub cap to cover up the lug nut area... would clean it up real nice.

 

After looking at the wheel, I don't think a "baby moon" would work... that center lip needs to have nubs on it for the "moon" to clip to.

 

Yes, I remember those knubs. There were three of them on the VW Bug.
Now I need something that can be held on with the lug nust but goes over the spindle threads that stick out about an inch.

 

Most people that do something to cover this end up using a chain link fence post cap. You can get a dome shape and an acorn shape. I would suggest aluminum so you can try to polish it out. You can get steel and have it chromed, but that can get expensive.

 

I think the 80's Honda caps will fit there, we can polish them up and drop a Scion logo on there.

I like it. Did you paint the wheels? I was thinking about doing that to my wife's xB because she has trashed the hub caps.

I cleaned and waxed the stock steelies. You might try a silicone sealant to allow all brake dust to slide away. ArmorAll on the tires.

Real cool look. At over 20mph no one knows what wheels you have. These trim rings give you the same smart look for an affordable price.
I just need a solution for that center hub/spindle iun the front.
Anyone post up any solutions, I will be looking into that Honda suggestion and I will be checking fence post tops.

 

I was going to do the same. I think you can get hub covers somwhere on the internet.

I would order one of these to see if it would fit. If it does order 3 more. If it doesn't at least you only bought one. You might also checl local sources that may be cheaper.

OK, here's the deal. Go to your local Napa auto parts store and order 4 of part# 730-2411. They are just a plain dust cap that's fits perfect.
Its a high polished silver finish but they can be scuffed and sprayed whatever you want. Very neat and clean appearance. Hope this helped out.

Oh and they were like $12 a set of 4.

Do they stay on with the lug nuts?
Or does this part just push into the gap between the hub and the wheel?

I am hoping that it will go in that gap with a rubber mallod like the old spindle dust caps.

I took some pictures of the caps but im not a computer wiz and I cant figure out how to post them. I said something about they have to already exist on the web not just on my pc. Now I know you all want to laugh right now and say haha look at the dumb guy. But if you want to see the pics I suggest you write me back and let me in on what to do.

 

Oh, and when I said they fit perfect I wasnt joking. They fit over the outside lip of the wheel and are a perfect press fit. Give them a few kicks or love taps with a rubber hammer and them babies arent going anywhere. Cool thing is the are on the wheel so if you take your wheels off for anything they stay right where they are.

 

Posting a photo is a snap.
Save photo onto a floppy.
Open a browser, go to www.imageshack.us
click on BROWSE, switch to A: drive (your floppy). (no floppy? use tree to find photo on your C: drive)
Select photo from list, click on HOST IT
A few seconds you get a page of links, select the string in the bottom field (photo) and copy it. Use control-C to copy if you want to.
Now go to ScionLife.com, paste the photo link (control-V) into post, select link and click on Img box above. Then Preview.

My first attempt to run that number failed, Advanced Auto ran the number and said that it could not be cross referanced.

So post up a photo. If I can not get a cap, I at least want to see one.
I hope you ment to say "the inside center lip of the wheel".....
