Just tell them you want trim rings for your stock steel wheels (15" of course). A lot of folks around here refer to them as cop car trim rings as most of the police cruisers use these.

Has anyone tried "slim" trim rings? http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...003841/c-10101 I'm wondering if they'll fit our stock steelies and what difference in look they might make...

[I did not end up getting these slim ones.]

I want to say that those ARE trim rings, and that they WOULD work, but don't put faith into my thoughts. :D

I will need to travel 200 miles one-way to Fresno, California to find a Napa store with the 7302411 dust caps in stock The 7302411's can't be ordered off the website.

7302407 and 7302416 can however, but I'm not sure if they will fit.

Like the 7302411 it says "Hub ID For Cap:2.448" for both of them. Does that mean they are also the same 2.448 inch diameter?

Install (bottom on first and secured with foot, then used both hands on each side to push inward at the same time):

No lug swap or dust caps yet.

Hm, maybe I'll just get black gorilla lug nuts and stay away from the dust caps. I like the current look.

I'm rolling with steelies and trim rings too.

Got them here:

http://myworld.ebay.com/cripedistributing/

$28 shipped

The lugs look ugly but I'm gonna get chrome lugs... It'll look better... I used Turtle Wax polish for the wheels, worked pretty good. Did them twice as they were pretty dirty.

Sorry for the blurry picture I was inside... =(

Glad to see that others are discovering the whole steelies with trim rings and center cap look. This looks way better than any hubcap could IMO.

I have plastic ones and they don't rattle either.

One of them did squeek right after I had them installed. I had them installed for conveince. They place where I bought them would put them on for free. The guys who put them on either pushed them in too far or someone kicked one in a parking lot because the outside of the ring went over the lip of the steel rim. I popped it off and reinstalled correctly. The squeek went away.

Weatherstrip seems cost effective but I'm sure a few pieces of duct tape in the same place might do the trick if you have that on hand. It has sort of a rubbery softness to it especially when layered.

Can anyone tell me how to get my stock plastic hub caps off of my wheels? It's finally time to get new tires and I figure I'll make some other changes.

Just grab one of the spokes and yank. It'll pop right off.

Okay, so I know I've been adamant about my anti chrome stance... but, I got a set of saddleman trim rings for 20 bucks off ebay. So I'll try them out just because they were cheap.

Obviously, if I keep them around, I'll need new lugs. What size/brand do we need? I know I can get Gorillas at the stores around here, but other than the studs being 4x100, I don't know what else I need to get the right lugs. Thanks!

Thanks, I got the plastic hubs off, and only fell on my butt once! lol

So I'm waiting on the response to the lug size question too, and then maybe I'll have an inexpensive/nicer than stock look in a couple of days.
