Default Another member of club "Bling Ring"

Just got mine on. I also decided to have the stock wheels color matched to my exterior Camo color:

Here is my $15 junkyard solution. They were sourced off a random late 70's or early 80's Toyota 4-door of some sort:

I plan on going by there from time to time. If I find some more, I'll put them up for sale.

Are all these steelies just cleaned and waxed, or is everybody repainting them gloss black?

Default ....NATURAL STEEL.....

Cleaned and waxed. I hope that you didn't let yours get dirty and dull.
Some are powercoated but that too, needs cleaning and waxing.
How new is your box? The newer the better... get to work on them.

That looks great richdog. I couldn't resist doing the trim rings since my Dad already had some spares, and I had the lugs left over from my Echo. All I had to buy was the grease caps.

The grease caps water spotted after I washed the car. I polished them again and put some wax on them.

Thanks, the local shop does a bit of paint for my club, and was also painting other pieces for me at the time, so I’m not sure if what he charged me would be a realistic going rate elsewhere.

I’ve always wondered how this would look on a lighter car like an RS2 or Polar White. Great for show, but I can’t imagine the upkeep!
On those cars what about painting the rings, lugs, and caps to match the body instead? Has anyone done that?

Painted lugs? Would that work? The paint might peel off when you try to put them on.

Alan... those are an older Toyota Tercel hub cap. They are available for order from http://www.hubcaps.org for $25 each if you can't find them elsewhere.

ok you guys have got me sold on going to steelies but I have a few questions?

do the trim rings have a 2inch or 3inch lip the parts store needs to know to order them in stainless for me?

Could somone please post in one post a link to the stainless trim rings,A link to the lugnuts I need, and then post the exact part number for the napa center caps.

This will make the whole task for me and future people alot easier thanks guys I would appreciate it.

I plan to paint the steelies with that black color changing paint that goes to red and then blue with a metalic fleck I thought it would look good on a black flint mica whats everyones thoughts thanks again.

OK, so I did this Bling Trim last July and finally said I've had it with the rattle on a bumpy road going 25 or 35 mph. I dunno if someone would be interested in removing their rings and get those foam or rubber stripping. The kind you put on your doors over the Winter.
Put the stripping on the inside part around the trim so it would prevent it from rattling with the steel wheels while you drive. I don't know if that would work for everyone but it silenced mine so I can put down my windows and not hear those rattles.

BTW, it's Frost King brand stripping. At Home Depot or Lowes it's for the house doors originally not for car doors if someone gets confused.

I'm in!

Stainless Trim rings, $21 shipped on eBay (seller CripeDistributing)
Chrome Lugnuts, $16 for 4 packs of 4, Wal-Mart
Grease Cap, $4 for 4 at NAPA
Aluminum valve caps, $4 for pack of 4 at Autozone

$45 for all 4 wheels, not bad! Not counting new tubs of Mother's Mag and Turtle Wax.
