Lots of choices there... and since the Miatas are so widely run on the track, there are a lot more rims choices... only "drawback" is that they sometimes in a RWD type of offset, like 30mm.

Do you folks know about this URL yet?

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

An offset calculator

According to that, a 7 inch wide rim with a 30mm offset would be +5mm closer to the strut housing and +21mm towards the outside of the car... I'm really leaning towards these rims for the box... http://www.flyinmiata.com/wheels/KZ-M-MX.php moving my 205/60/15s over to em.

Oh yes. 60 series... so nice and comfy and quiet inside! And they still handle/stick much nicer then the stock tires did.
you may want to go with 205/55/15, with 205/55/15 it's already bigger in diameter over stock, 60 series would give you rub problems most likely. 205/55/15 will feel just about the same as 60 *almost un-noticeable dffrence* but you will also notice a big diffrence in grip.

they would like nice though, they actualy only get 2mm closer to the suspension and stick out 18mm farther then stock.

Ok guys, I noticed on the Guide that for 18x 8.5 no comments were made. If i get that size of wheels with out lowering the box, will I still need spacers or any sort or mod or will i be cool throwing those on the xb stock?

Thank you in advance!

Hello first time poster and i will make this short and sweet.

I was recommended to come here by someone on scikotics.com because they said this place had the best info for tire size/rimm matching.

I have absolutely fell in love with the Motegi DP1 and already am looking at a set to buy.

According to your wheel guide though the offset is way off.

18X8 with a 28 offset and 225-35- 18 tires is only offset i see and while i realize that is not a complete list the Motegi are quite a bit off

18X8 with a 40 offset 4X100 ET40

I have spent a couple days trying to find that wheel in any other offset but for that size it only comes in that one.

What does the offset actually take into account? I didn't see that explained in the FAQ post at the top of this thread.
Will those wheels fit my xB, and how much modification will i have to do? I really have my heart set on those wheels and I would like 18's. The site im looking at already has a direct fit for 17's but i really wanted them in 18's. If its not just going tobe possible without doing heavy modification then I will settle for the 17's. Also they make them in 20's but i am going to guess that would have major modification needed for it.

If it is possible to get the 18's how low of a tire and high of a tire would i be able to go with them?
for instance 205/35/18 i was thinking for the front and possibly a 205/45 or 50/18 for the rear to give it some stance? Does that make sense?

Any info would be helpful thankyou.

Work Euroline DH
Tein Basic Coilovers lowered max plus rear spring lock and perches removed.
Front 18x8.5 offset +25 215/35/18
Rear 18x8.5 offset +20 215/35/18
Front no rubs at all.
Rear over bumps with only driver in car. Even worse with passengers or weight in trunk. Rolled fenders so hard it bulges out. Now only rub with weight in trunk or passengers.

on my XA for those XA owners out there if you really want to do a tire change from 185/60/15 and stay with the same radius you can go 195/55/15 or 195/50/15 with the second dimension you will be sitting a full inche lower so if your in a city like me with a lot of speed bumps take that into consideration along with how fed up your streets are

Regarding the xA tire recomendation above, I also had to stay with 15 inch rims due to the wonderful roads here in the Detroit area.

However, I went with 205/55's. They are closer to the stock outside diameter size at only +2% larger than stock. I can't notice a difference with gearing, speedometer, etc.

The 195/55's that were suggested are 4% smaller than stock outside diameter, & the 195/50's are even worse at 12% smaller than stock diameter.

Is anyone running 185/65/15 tires on 15" wheels with 42mm offset on their xB? Any fitment or rubbing issues?

Real quick question for the people who know tires.

I have 18" wheels 7.5" wide 40 offset
"Suggested" tire sizes that I have read are 215/35 18

In the first post of this thread, there's a guy who had 215/35 18.... but his offset was 42 and he had rubbing at full lock

Will I be rubbing???

Thanks in advance.

I'm considering ditching my 17x7s with 215/40/17s. I was looking at a set of Drag Dr-26 in 15x7 +40... would a 205/50/15 be a good tire size?

I'd go with a 195. Also, if you're not lowered, a 50 series is going to look terrible, it will also throw off your speedometer.

I'm not lowered, but the reason I was thinking 50's was to get some more sidewall back... the 40's ride like ___, and since its my wifes car, (she's not as careful as she could be) she's curbed them up too... Im trying to prevent that, as well. I would like to lower the car later on, but for now, would you suggest 60's? I just didnt want the tires to look like balloons...
