Having never owned an xB or anything like it, would I have problems with 17x7 +40 offset on a 06 xB as far as fitment around suspension is concerned, I noticed alot of people posting issues about the rim hitting something in the rear, trying to avoid that...also looking for a good tire size, I was looking at 215/40/17 which indicates only about a 1mph speedo throw off.

Also running Eibach Pro lowering springs, no rubbing, perfect fit.

This is the same set-up i have. W/O spacers, its almost flush with the fender. I dont have it lowered though. Not sure if lowering will cause rubbing problems. It's a nice look though, i've gotten many compliments on it.

Oh, and i have 225/40's.

okay...im just really trying to make sure about a wheel size im looking into..

for my xA i was thinking just 16s with a +40 offset..is that too big of an offset? i know its a dumb question with all the stuff in the beginning of this thread but i just REALLY want to make sure that i wont experience any rubbing..

i also will install some rear shims soon, so that is also a factor...

I have a tC lowered on TRD springs.

Orlando and the guys at Auto Innovations did a great job mounting and balancing my rims and tires, as well as doing a much-needed alignment.

Rims:
RO_JA Formula 5 in gunmetal, 17x7, 5x100mm, +42mm offset, 70.5mm hub bore, 15.8 lbs. each (I weighed 15.5 on my bathroom scale, but that only has .5 lbs. precision).

I have plastic hubcentric rings with 54.1mm ID, 70.5mm OD, and it seems to work fine. No vibrations.

I had McGard spline lugs in black installed as well.

Tires:
Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S, 225/45/17

The paint sucks on the rims. I can already see a couple of nicks on the inner part of a couple of the wheels where paint is already coming off. I will probably have to get these powdercoated or something at some point. How much would that run me, and would it be durable? Add a lot of weight?

I'll have pics up in the other sticky thread soon.

2005 PW xB

18x8 Axis Decades with maxis lip system
offset: front 40mm rear 35mm
215 35 18 rubbers.

OTG 10mm Shims in the rear
Tanabe DF210s Springs
TRD shocks.

Rubs in the rear passenger side. bumps and high speed over dips.

Had to roll rear fenders ALL THE WAY for it not to rub.

See my profile for more pics. WIll take more once I have the whol;e car done

P/C adds no extra weight (as they chemically remove the old paint first) and ran me $50/wheel about 10 years ago. Well worth it I say. Cheers.

i just read over the initial post, i just have a little twist to add. Don't assume that every tire has the same width and height. I don't know why but different manufactures measure tires a little differently. Here's an example of what i am taking about. Both Falken and Yokohama make a 205.45.17 tire. Falkens 512 and Yokohamas AVS ES 100 These two tires are not the same width. The AVE ES 100 is wider and if used on a 17x7 wheel with a 40 Offset will rub on an XB without spacers. The Falken 512 will not. ???? Don't ask me why, manufactures (foreign) are a little odd. FYI

20x7.5 . . . . . . . 45 . . . . . . . . . . . . . 215/35-20 . . . . Rear needs 5mm spacer Front loses full turning radius (hits tow hook inside fender) Also fender needs to be moved back 1" towards pass/driv floor board.

If someone could add this to the first page please.

works with airride with major front fender work and rear door jam work.

Will 215/40/17 rub on an xA that is dropped on Tein S-techs?

The rims will have probably a +40 offset

I just noticed that my info needs to be changed on the front page. Im running 215/45R17 not a 40 series.

Im also running Progress Springs which drop 2"+ and no rubbing issues.
