I have been looking but cannot seem to be able to find chains that fit my 215/35/18s. Anyone have any ideas?

 

Get some wheels and tires that aren't retarded for snow driving?

 

The problem isn't that they cannot handle snow. The problem is that when it snows a couple feet they require everyone to have chains around here.

 

Max2k's point is that you should get a wheel set that isn't oversized... besides you are ruining your rims with all the salt and sand they put down during snow season...

 

They don't put salt down here. And besides I didn't ask why I should get different wheels I asked if anyone knew where I could get chains that fit.

Hey eric. did a quick check to see if there was anything that could fit. Closest i can find is 215 45 18. Now you can probably match the circumference with your tire size and match it with a 16 or 17 inch tire size with the same circumference. Should work.

 

tire chains are adjustable, it is sized like small, med, large, etc... so you just need to find one that matches you wheel diamter... a 215-45-18 is 10% of 215 taller X2... so 43mm or about 1 2/3 inches TALLER than the 35's that he is running... so these will fit...

Walmart carries a chain that fits the stock size tire very well... the range on the side of the box runs from as small as a 185R13 all the way up to a 215/45R17... which I would be that they would be REALLY CLOSE to fitting the above listed tire... (SNOTRAC Passenger Cables) is actually what they are... they work great for me, only got to use them once this year...

 

Just put your stocks back on!

 

Be careful with chains or cables. They were never really intended to be used on front-wheel-drive vehicles. The turning could easily cause them to come loose which could cause serious damage to the side of your car.

 

chain damage...i go snowboarding every weekend and purchased the Z chains.

do not get them...thinking higher price = better quality

well they did about $800 damage to my front quarterpannel and bumbers.

i have a call into insurance and it may be covered under my policy...hope hope fingers crossed.

anyway they do work great traction wise, i suggest getting the kind with the bungy to hold them on tight without any tails that can spin off and hit the paint.

get something in your wheel circumference. and then get TENSIONERS. they will really help keep those bastard chains on!

by the way, since you have 18s i figure they are nice rims... the chain WILL scratch and scuff your rims.
