Here are the first pics of the new wheels on the box. Next will be darker tinting on the windows and a billet grill...

We finally decided to stay with taller sidewalls (15" wheels) to keep the wheel damage to a minimum on these crappy Michigan roads.

Definitely agree on the shims and a drop. That will make a huge difference in the look. Probably much more so than the tint and billet. Nothing sets a vehicle off more than the right stance.

After looking at the car, I would tend to agree. I think the shims and drop would really make it look even better. I do have a couple questions though.

When putting shims on, don't you need longer wheel studs? If so, with an open wheel design, you will see the shim between the weel and brake drum.

Second, the only lowered xB we have driven had a very crappy ride considering the rough roads in Michigan. Is there any particular drop kit (springs) that retains or even smoothes out the ride? I have been considering the Hotchkis Tuning TVS Stage 1 kit since it comes with sway bars too. Here is the link on tirerack.. : http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...2.1&perfCode=S

I have heard good things about Hotchkis turning old school muscle cars into something that actually rides decent.

drop and OTG spacers....they go behind the hub so no need for longer studs.....my Tenabes df210's with monroes in back ride better than stock

I considered these when getting new wheels. I should have gone for them How much did you drop on them?

The Hotchkis springs are about the stiffest (harshest) for the xB. I have them. Monroe SensaTrac shocks in the rear calmed down the ride significantly. Look in the suspension forum. There is a sticky that lists spring rates. The lower the spring rate, the softer the ride.

We had the previous generation tire on another car we used to have and were very impressed. So, we went with a bit wider tire (and 4mm taller) for a fraction of the price of some of the others we looked at.

My wife just drove 250 miles thursday on them to go visit a friend. She was VERY impressed with their road manners.

734.96 wheels, tires, valve stems, new lug nuts, hub rings, road hazard warranty, mounting, balancing delivered to my front door.

If you go to www.tirerack.com and do a Wheel and Tire package you can work up your cost by putting it in your "cart". From there you can check the shipping charges and everything for you. (easier than me trying to explain).

They are great to deal with and give great service.
