Practice...practice....practice.....and practice some more. This was my first time doing wheels. But have had many many years of painting one thing or another.

I was going to have them powdercoated....so I gave spraypainting the wheels a try. I figured, if I screwed up, I'll just hand them over to the powdercoater.

Sort of how I handled my Hood Cowl/lip. but ended up dropping it off with the body shop Friday. I actually liked that you painted the inside of your wheels. That is what I think I might try. I might do them in black or Salsa Re to match the car but not overwhelm it.

It would be allot easier than doing the entire wheel and mistakes will no show up as much.

Again great job.

Cool...This is the wheel before on the car. It, was very subtle, sometimes people didn't even notice they were painted.

Yeah I love that. I think the fact they pass it over shows it's cool. It's Subtle. I will use the Salsa Red (3q3) so it's gonna be even more subtle.

How long till you were able to put your shoes back on? My xA is a daily driven car.

Hard to say...because both times I didn't finish all the wheels at the same time.
I do know that, after all was said and done painting my last wheel (Wendsday afternoon) that all the wheels and tires remounted and put back on the car by (friday)

Very good time! Very good considering if you took it to a shop it might take longer even. I look forward to taking the time to do this kind of job some time

nice job. I did the same thing to my interior on my other car a while back. it was a lot of work but i enjoyed the outcome.

how do you think they will hold up with weather and other flying objects while driving?

how did you prep the wheel for the paint, did you use primer? How many cans of paint did it take? You did an excellent job there, look very JDM!
