"Eleanor" style wheels for an xB?
Since I dig the xB's so much, but don't currently own one, I'm helpin my buddy look for stuff for his. Among the things he wants is a set of "Eleanor style" wheels (Eleanor being the Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds).
A quick ref of the wheels in question:

And, after searching through probably a thousand wheels that were listed as working on the xB (thank goodness for broadband), the closest set I've come across:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Displ...t+Grey+Painted
Now, my buddy totally digs that set, and plans on getting them when his first set of tires wears out, but I'm wondering.... can we do any better than that? So what do you think, guys & gals, any recommendations that may hit the mark a bit closer?

I absolutely despise the "Eleanor" cars. But I will do my best to help you out. First and foremost this is going to cost your friend WAY more than it is worth to get these wheels to work on the xB. Reason being, they are 5 lug only. He would either have to do a conversion to 5 lug or run a set of 4 to 5 lug adapters. If I am not mistaken, the parts are available for a pretty substantial price from Japan.
Even if the conversion was made, getting the wheels to fit could still be a problem. Depending on the size he wanted getting enough backspacing could be very difficult.
However, if he is interested in spending the kind of money it takes to get it done, here is a link to the wheels from American Racing...

Now there are also some kind of crappy looking 4 lug knock offs available. The quality doesn't look that great and the price isn't very reasonable either. Here are a couple of links though...

Just keep in mind that even on the 4 lug wheels, chances are he will still have to run adapters. I doubt the wheels will be available in a 4x100 lug pattern. You will be more likely to find them in a 4x4.25" lug pattern. And again, once you add the adapter to a wheel designed for a rear wheel drive car, I doubt you will ever get decent fitment. Chances are your wheels will be sticking out by at least as much as the adapter width.
Good luck in the search though.

Didn't notice the 4 / 5-lug setup before, thanks for pointing that out (and shame on tirerack for listing those wheels when I did my search). Don't think my buddy's THAT hard on for a set of 'eleanors', especially since he dislikes adapters / spacers.

You could always call up American Racing and get them to send you a set with no bolt holes. Then you could have them custom drilled. It's more money, of course, but everything good usually is...
