Hey folks,

I have a 2006 xA with Rota Slipstream 17" wheels. I ordered these from JLB motorsports, who didn't include hubcentric rings. I mounted the wheels yesterday, and today I noticed that about about 50mph I get a vibration. Obviously, they aren't quite right.

I tried eBay a few weeks ago, and won a pair that allegedly was to work for my car. Afterward, I got an email from the representative of the auction (in this case, from Discount Tire Direct) stating the following:

"Unfortunately your vehicle has 2 different hub bores on it. The rear bore is very odd and I will not have rings for it. However I do have rings for the front of the vehicle where the vibration usually occurs. The rings only come in sets of four so if you want them you will have 2 extras. Please make sure they do not go on the rear as the rings are smaller than the hub and the wheel will not seat properly. "

Is this really the case? Do we have 2 different bore sizes for our car? Can anyone offere advice on how or where to get some of these? I think I really need them, as I don't want to screw up my car and/or wheels.

I have an xB and all 4 wheels are the same. I ordered my rims from www.edgeracing.com and they included the hubcentric rings for free. You might be able to get some from them.

Yeah, I just called them, and they were very cool. Unfortunately, I need to know the inside diameter of the wheel hub, and I don't. I'm trying to find out now.

i work at discount tire in orlando, and the hub rings that we carry fit the front and the rears. the size is 73-54.06 thats what i have on and thats what the xb/xa take.. so if u have a discount tire store near you.. they should have them

Yes, front and rear are the same on the xA and xB - otherwise we couldn't even rotate the stock wheels.

The inside diameter of the hubcentric rings needs to be 54.1 (54.06) and the outside needs to be whatever your wheelss take (they vary, of course.)

(When I bought my new wheels and tires from TireRack, Kyle had no problem at all coming up with the correct rings instantly.)

Got my rims and tires from www.treadepot.com and they included the rings as part of the package--all four were the same size.

It's strange that places would sell you wheels and not inform you that these are a must for their product to perform properly.

Incidentally, how is the wheel diameter actually measured? From what point to what point should the wheel be 17" on a 17" wheel? I'd like to certify that they sent me the right thing...

Thanks for the help folks. I got the 17" with a 7.5 width, alledgedly.

So the wheel diameter is the height without the flange, right? I think I got the proper wheels.

I better be more specific. I got the 17" Slipstreams, 7.5" width, with the +45 offset.

Does this mean that the hub bore is 67.1?

Yep, that's it.

So you'll need rings with an inner diameter of 54.1 and an outer of 67.1, those should help out. But if you still have a vibration after installing the rings you might need to get the wheels rebalanced.

You can buy the rings from Discount Tires or America Tires. I just walked right in and asked them for it.

Okay, finally got some help on the phone. After calling numerous places on the phone (including the place I got my wheels from, who hadn't the decency to call back after 5 DAYS) I finally placed an order with Discount Tire. My rings should arrive Friday, and all will hopefully be well.
