Default konig britelite wheels for my xb???

so i was thinking about getting these konig britelite wheels for my xb. i like the machined finish over the black on them.

but i was wondering if i could still use my stock wheels with these rims. i just have the regular that came with the stock tires and free wheel covers.

these are the specs i've found on each:
konig britelites: 15x6.5 4-10038bmf (i have no idea what that last part means)
http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ID=1&ss_id=476

scion wheel info:
Stock Wheels/Tires
15"x6" +38 offset / 185/60R15 xB 185/60R15 xA 185/65R15 bB
37 lbs per wheel & tire
Alloy wheel: 16.7 lbs
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=348

i see that the rims are 15x6.5 and the tires are 15x6. will these tires fit on the rims. is that extra 1/2 inch just for clearance purposes? sorry, i don't know anything about cars, but my brand new xb has got me interested in all this car stuff.

also i like these rims because they're pretty light, 12.6lbs compared to the stock 17.7lbs. but does having lightweight wheels have any drawbacks. cant they get dinged up going over a pothole or dip. i figured from a mileage stand point i'll be able to get more mpg with these, but i don't want to get them if they're gonna get dinged up real easy.

one more thing, if anybody's got these rims on they're xb, send me a pic so i can preview how'd they look. if you got a black xb with these rims, even better.

thanks all, looking forward to your input.

Hmmm...you're confusing things a bit here. You asked if know if the stock rims fit on the Konig wheels, but "rims" and "wheels" are the same thing.
Also, the new Konigs are 15x6.5, but your stock wheel is 15x6, not the tire - the tire size is the number you have listed after that (185/60-15)
I'm assuming you mean you want to know if the stock 15" tires will fit on the 15" Konig wheels? If so, the answer is yes!
Best of luck!

sorry, i mixed up wheels, tires and rims.

to try to clarify, yes, i wanted to know if my stock tires would fit on the konig wheels.
thanks for the answer boxoffice, but does that .5" difference between the konig wheel and stock wheel affect anything... like the tire sizing, or what?

Sorry, I forgot to address the rest of your questions.
A lightweight wheel is almost always a good thing. Reducing "unsprung weight" (any mass not supported by your suspension, in the simplest of terms, like your wheels and tires) can greatly enhance your turning response - in other words, with less weight to move around, your car steers faster and feels lighter.
The fact that the stock tires have a fairly tall sidewall should protect the rim of the lighter wheel - its not like you'd be running 18" wheels with a 1/2" tall sidewall, leaving the rim vulnerable to potholes, etc. - though the longevity of something that light might not be as good as a heavier duty wheel. Luckily, Konig makes an excellent quality wheel, so that shouldn't be as big a concern as it might be with a cheaper-made wheel.
You'd obviously be reducing the overall weight of the vehicle somewhat, too, but I wouldn't plan on seeing any great mileage savings over something that insignificant.

No problem - at least we got that cleared up!
As for tire/wheel width, here's some stats:
A stock 185/60-15 is about 7 1/4" wide (185mm). Obviously, it fits on the 6" rim, and a 6 1/2" (or even 7") is even better, since they're even closer in width to the width of the tire.
Very few aftermarket wheel companies make 6" wide wheels anymore, since most stockers are at least that wide now, and most people want something wider if they're replacing factory wheels.
The upside of going with the wider wheel is that if you wanted to upgrade your tires somewhere down the road, you could go to a 195mm (or mayyybeee even a 205) wide tire.
Really, the only thing that COULD affect anything in this whole formula is the backspacing/offest of the Konig vs. the stocker...

With 15" rims you will not have any more risk of dinging them up than with the factory wheels. There's a lot of tire there to protect the rim. I have 17" rims and I drive over some fairly rough roads every day and they are fine.

I don't know how much you can expect for mileage increases but you should have some. The figure varies depending on the source but on average they say that one pound of unsprung weight is equivalent to seven pounds of sprung weight. That means that changing to the Konig rims would be like removing 140 lbs. from your car.

I wouldnt excpect to much of a MPG or performance gain. I went from the stock steelies to 24~lbs 18s and only lost 2-3mpg. those rims look nice, get some pics when you get them

You can put the stock tires on an 8" wheels, so that's not a problem.

You might want to look to see if that wheel can be found in a lower offset, et38 will look a little sunken-in. I think JLB Motorsports has some better offsets.
