Default Looking at Wheel & Tire Pkgs. What to Consider?

I am the point where I have settled on a theme. The theme is based on a set of 17" Konig Daylites on Yokohama S.drive's. I have never purchased aftermarket wheels for any vehicle that I've had. I want the wheels to be flush with fenders and if I understand it correctly spacers will do that. I have a few starter questions to get things going.

Offset, what does it mean?

Spacers, I know I can get them from AllianceAutoSports (Mike) thanks to bB2NER, but is this something I can install myself with a basic set of tools?

What is the maintenance like on powder coated wheels? In VA the winters don't seem too bad, but thats compared to when I lived in Michigan with all the salt.

Suspension, do I have make adjustments there as well? I am thinking about lowering but its not near the top of my list.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting more info from the Konig website and Yokohama website about offset. But the maintenance is a big key b/c with work and all chrome is too much work to protect and keep clean. Waxing is easy enough for the weekend's

Offset is the distance or the mounting portion of the wheel in regard to the centerline of the wheel. A +40mm wheel has the center of the wheel moved inward 40mm past the mounting surface.
Here is a tire / wheel calculator that comes in handy for choosing the right set up. It will help you better understand the whole offset and tire/wheel size thing.
