Lowering xB with 215/40 17
Just got these on ebay, and I'm thinking about 215/40 17 wheels.

I'm wondering what is the best distance to lower the car where its safe and still looks good wth those wheels/tires.
and while I'm at it, how do you all feel about 215 on the scion?
I've heard all kinds of different opinions, here and at the tire store.

I run 215/40/17's and dropped 2" with Gold-Line springs...hotbox05 is right, to be perfect the xB needs atleast a 3" drop and that has to be done with coil overs or air bags and those aren't cheap...Gold-Lines I believe are still out of stock all over the place so I would recommend the Tanabe DF210's...They are some of the lowest drop springs you can get I believe...

I ran 205/40/17's on mine and had no issues but really it is you personal preference.....her's a tire size calculator to help you figure it out yourself. just plug in the stock size on one side and the size you want to go to the other side then you can decide........http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

The other ok sizes are 215/40/17 and 215/45/17.
205/40/17's are not load rated for the xB. You can still run them but you might cut a sidewall as I did.
